With the Orc dead Silus gave a quick scan of the battlefield, with its commander on the run the Orc Defender also made his way running away from the battle. This concerned Silus as his thoughts turned to Fen as the boy had taken on the defender and was now nowhere to be seen. Sal then called out that even more orcs were approaching. "Will these bastards ever give up?" Silus sighed as he let loose some arrows in their direction trying to dwindle their numbers before the Orcs got to the group. Between Silus and Sal there were enough arrows shot to bring down two of the Orcs. Luckily one of the orcs brought down was the one dragging Harried allowing the girl her freedom. As the two remaining orcs charged in the captain saw that Gunthar was running away with is last remaining follower. "Damned coward!" The orc yelled as it charged at Sasha his mighty sword clashed hard with the shield attempting to throw the winded warrior off balance. The other Orc angry from receiving an arrow to his arm charged Sal foolishly thinking it could chase down the horseman. Silus went to grab another arrow to put down another orc, but his quiver was empty thus he shouldered the bow drawing his sword to assist Sasha with the other Orc Captain.

The Axeman orc struggled against the two "rats" pinned and unable to properly use its weapon the orc knew it didn't have many options and little chance to survive, but if the Orc was going to die it was determined to take one of them with him. The orc abandoned its weapon making a move to wrap his hands around Giffy's throat attempting to choke the life out of the man.

"Damned coward!"

Sasha didn't have to search long for the next opponent as the orc slammed down into him with its mighty sword. Thankfully, the blacksmith had been hunkered down to catch his breath when the blow landed so he didn't get knocked over but the force slid him back in the mud as the blade shook from the impact. Watching the blade shake gave the tall savage an idea.

There is a saying he was trained with since joining the black order "fight the fighter, not the weapon." Good advice he only came to know later, before that, his measure of victory was in breaking his opponents weapons with his steel slab of a sword. It might be time to revisit that method.

From his crouched position Sasha threw himself up hard with all his body, trying to push the orc leader up off the ground with his prodigious strength. It would surely fail, but that should be enough to get it to fall back far enough to throw the shield at its feet, literally, hurling the slab of defense at the little bones in the feet hoping to hobble it into being unable to charge.

If it was thrown off and hobbled, Sasha would begin a rapid fire serries of attacks with his polearm like a staff with the back and flat of his blade along with the ring on the butt. They were easy to block, and that is what he wanted, to hammer away at the weapons vibration node again and again until the sword couldn't take it and break. All the while this plan also gave Silus the perfect opening for a distracted orc to finish him off.

"Gurgh" Giffy gagged, trying to breathe. The orc had put him in a chokehold and he thought he was going to die. Giffy desperately scanned his environment looking for something that he could use to help his current situation. Nothing, Giffy thought, there was absolutely nothing he could use, and even if there was Giffy would break his hold on the orc in the process. Except the tree he was already using. That's it! Giffy realized.

Tyr returned to the battle to see it had already been decided, the two remaining orcs already had their dancing partners and it would be rude to interrupt. Seeing Harried squirming on the ground Tyr grabbed his axe and cut her remaining bonds. With an exasperated huff Tyr trundled over to a stump the orcs must have been using as a chair and begun tending his broken knuckles. Tyr wasn't stupid enough to remove his armour, he knew more orcs could be coming and wasn't going to give the swine an easy target.

Rem swung his staff into the back of the orc's head. He wound the staff back for another swing and struck for the back of the knees. The orc who was so focused on Giffy would be forced to change targets or ultimately fail in his goal. Rem would wind up the staff to hit him again in the head.

If the orc wouldn't stray from his goal it would be his end. "Giffy move!" He ordered before whispering the words of power. "Ernal Finno." He willed the tree's roots to let go of the ground behind and pull toward the orc. The massive piece of lumber would certainly end him.

The battle was Moving in the Order's favor as things were coming to a close. Two orcs remained the unnamed captain engaged with Sasha and the Orc blindly charging at Sal. Sasha had done well with the shield first pushing the orc back who barely was able to stay on his feet from the throw and who's counter was blocked by the flying shield. The captain now struggled parrying Sasha's blows looking for some sort of opening, And there it was The orc had found the rhythm of the strikes and a perfect way to fell its foe. As Sasha's blade came around the Orc changed its pattern almost sidestepping the attack while slamming the back end of Sasha's blade with the flat of his sword to drive the mighty weapon into the ground. The Orc raised its weapon with a grin on his face but then the weapon fell to his side as Silus' blade was run through the orcs back. The Orc tried to struggle but it soon found Silus' dagger sliced across its throat and with a thump the Orc fell to the ground. "Good work on holding him off" Silus commented to Sasha. "Looks like only one left. go check on Tyr and then try to find Fen I have a feeling the poor boy was to overconfident and might have bitten off more than he could chew." Silus said turning his attention back to the charging orc. Silus went to the nearby crossbow orc and picked up the orc's weapon, with one quick shot Silus was able to pierce the Orc's leg sending the brute tumbling forward helpless to its upcoming fate.

Sasha had grown overconfident in his skills and faced its reckoning as his miss was overextended and surely to be the end of him. If not for the leader of their own to finish off the would be executioner. "Good work on holding him off" Silus commented to the blacksmith, easing a pain that he had to be saved by another, but that was the purpose of the order to look out for one another against the evils of this world.

"Looks like only one left. go check on Tyr and then try to find Fen. I have a feeling the poor boy was to overconfident and might have bitten off more than he could chew."

"Sir!" Was all the tall one said as he loped off for his bretherin to check on his condition. He came upon the kin sitting on a stump fixing his hands and so seemed to be in no mortal danger, he would go search for fen first and return to is fellow barbarian. A moment struck him to check on the once captive of the orcs, but he had to find fen first.

It took some work, but he managed to find the boy laid out on the field, a heavy blow already taken to bruise. Taking a wickedly sharp arrow from the field, he stabbed it onto a pouch of mead upon his hip to clean it before cutting the bruise with Sal's arrowhead to bleed the bruise and take the pressure off as he threw the mage over his shoulder and getting a powerful ambient shock for his efforts that dropped him to his knees.

Tyr laughed when he saw Sasha fall

"What, can't pick up a featherweight?"

Finishing binding his hand Tyr began going about searching the corpses of the fallen for coin and other useful things.

Had this become more than a skirmish it could have been a real mess. Rem took in a deep breath of the forest air. Things seemed to be calming down as he headed back to the others

"Don't take it too easy friends. We're still about orc territory and I don't fancy pulling a bolt out of one of your thick asses." He said as he made his way across the carnage. Rem spotted a human prone among the carnage and sped his pace. He offered a hand to lift her up.

So easily distracted by their blood-thirst the Orcs let Harriet's rope go she tried to wiggle free but the rough rope just dug hard into her skin causing her a great deal of pain. "Where do you think your going pretty little lady?" A brutish orc gnarled then stomped down on her chest, it's misshapen foot with tattered iron boots clanked hard against her metallic chest plate, it bent in just enough to force the oxygen from her lungs, she coughed violently as the Orc charged over stomping her arm in the process. "Augh!" She yelped, the bone was almost forced from the socket.

Laying face down in the mud and grass Harriet could do nothing but pray for the release of death, her body too weak to force herself from the bounds. "To die in the mud, like a pig... I never imagined such a pitiful destiny." She whispered to herself. However it seemed that her god had other plans for her and in the corner of her eye she saw a group of soldiers, some of which she recognized from the Order others she didn't. The soldiers broke through the Orcs lines, however Harriet's limited vision between the glaring sun and the deep mud left her only with a dancing of silhouettes and the clanging of swords, that is until she heard the sound of heavy steps behind her, she clenched assuming one of the orcs decided to finish her off before their defeat. "Just do it." She spat some mud, her body violently shivering, but as she waited for death she felt the cold steel of a weapon unlike one of Orcs cut her bounds... She had been saved.

It was a strange sensation to be able to use your arms again after so long, she at first just dropped them to her side her body telling her to just stay and relax, however she couldn't. She needed to know who saved her from her grim death. "AUGH!" She yelped into the mud as she attempted to move her left arm, it was undoubtedly fractured by the Orcs great big foot, she was glad that the mud would hide her tear of pain and used her left arm to flip herself face up. Two soldiers were now near her, one was sat on a stump and the second was looking directly at her, his words came out muffled as Harriet felt herself almost slipping out of consciousness.

She forced herself to stay awake and used her knees to sit up, if anything she needed them to believe she was strong. "I'm o-okay." She winced and grabbed her left arm, her knees sinking deeper into the mud as her weight was now focused on them. "Who, who are you... I must thank you for coming to my aid." She tried to speak the entire sentence without showing her pain.

Hearing the girl begin to speak Tyr looked up from his current self-assigned task. "The skinny felow in front of ya is Rem, I'm Tyr." Turning to the mage Tyr said "what are ye doin' man? She was taken prisoner by orcs! Of course she's not alright, see what ye can do about her wounds instead of just gawking like a schoolboy!" As Tyr went to return to his scavenging he saw a certain look in Harriet's eyes. "Ye gave up didn't ya? Tha's no good at all. If yer gon' te fight yer gon' to need to struggle, kick and scream as yer bein' dragged towerds an early grave. If ye gave up, that means ye weren't ready to be a warrior". Solemly turning back to the corpse in front of him Tyr found a coinpurse strapped to the belt of the fallen orc. Cutting the purse loose Tyr counted out the coins and dropped them into the purse attached to his own waist.

Silus looked around his men were battered but alive as far as he could tell. "Alright everyone lets pack it up and head back we are still a ways from camp and I don't know if we could survive another encounter with the Orcs this day." Silus said almost yelling making sure his team heard him. He then moved to where Tyr and Rem were with the female hunter. Although he didn't know her by name Silus had seen her around camp and knew she was a hunter. "We are your brothers in arms and shall ensure your safe return to the camp" Silus said to the woman "I am Silus the captain of this team, and hopefully those brutes didn't do anything to you before making their way to their doom" he said to the Huntress not trying to damage the woman's pride. Once the hunters had gathered and licked their wounds a little they made the trek back to the Hunters forward camp. The journey was rough and it was late evening before the hunters were able to see the campfires in the distance. "Get your rest everyone, we won the day. those of you who need it go see the healers I doubt we will be sent to scout again tomorrow but be ready to if needed." Silus commanded before entering the camp. He had a report to make and his team had earned at least one nights rest.

After Silas' debrief Rem directed his attention to their uncomfortable companion. Harriet had been marching all the way back with her shoulder out of place and who knows what else. The Order's local doctor was a man he personally knew. "Come on Harriet, let's get you fixed up." He guided her through the bustle of multi-colored designed tents that served to show just how many nations had members in their order. It was at a makeshift cabin that he stopped. It looked to be an older building there prior to the Black Order's arrival. Rem rapped on the door with his knuckles.

A muffled voice called through the door. "Come on in, just mind my patient..." Opening the door revealed a candle-brightened room with an old desk, drawer and several cots. One of the cots was occupied by a pale a sweaty man who was trying to make the best of his time in there with rest. The doctor turned from his patient with a goggled mask that bore a long trunk-like tube to cover his mouth and nose. "Don't worry, he's not contagious. I'm just wearing this in case I'm wrong." He turned about to the desk, washing his hands in a small water basin beside it with some soap.

"Harriet, this is Uric Thaelin. He's from my home town and one of the most learned men in the profession." After uric dried his hands on a rag he pulled the gaudy mask off. He was an older gentleman, his grayed hair parted by a bald spot and a neat strap of hair poking up on his chin. He had a white tunic and brown trousers on. His sleeves had been pulled up for obvious reasons.

"Harriet is it? A pleasure to meet you mam! Let me have a look at you. Your shoulders look a little off. Tell me what hurts." Uric questioned.

"I'll leave you in his capable hands. My tent is the red and green one by the bonfire. I should be there in about an hour if you still need me." He said as he slipped out the door.

The night was still young and he was one of the few of the band who was left completely unscathed by the battle. Well, that didn't mean he wasn't tired from use of magic but he didn't mind the opportunity to meet with the others at the fire. He made his way there before his tent. He crossed his legs on the cool soil and enjoyed the beauty of the moment. A starry sky, a chill in the night's air and the crackling of fire. He was counting on the others to interrupt him.

Returning to camp Tyr felt as though he left something behind, the mistake of not killing that orc captain weighed heavily on him and put him in a foul mood. Deciding to make the best of his time however, Tyr went over to the dining section of the camp and got himself a barrel of ale. Pouring himself his first pint of many Tyr sat down heavily at the table.

"If only I'd run just a wee 'ikkle bit fasser that blasted pig wouldn't a made et outta tha forrest wi' his head on his shoulders!"

Downing his pint of ale in a single swig Tyr poured himself another hefty helping of the firewater. Slamming his mug down on the table Tyr made everyone's dishes jump, some of which fell on those who were trying to eat. The more drunken members of the Order laughed at those who got dirtied while the drunk ones who were now wearing their food glared at Tyr and some began shouting. In short order a drunken brawl broke out with Tyr at the center. Flailing limbs and angry shouting that was so loud it could be heard across the camp. The reckless giant's laughter was the only thing that could be heard above the din.

"Come now lads! Is this 'ikkle clamour tha best ye ken do? Ma mother could beat ye all back into yer beds blindfolded an' not even break a sweat!"
