[@mattmanganon] I mean, I understand that rules have to be bent in terms of post by post roleplay, and that we mostly use the rule of cool when we can when we write our posts. But there are also limits to the game. In terms of plasma weapons, you mentioned the overheat rule, which is an oversimplification of Imperial plasma weapons just being kinda bad and the containment field in the weapon failing or the venting of so much excess heat some things die. In terms of a warp peril test, you would be able to get away with using the chart from the RPG where lighter consequences can happen, like say, you just hear some spectral screaming, or the temperature drops. Your character doesn't have to suffer an aneurism from using psychic abilities. Additionally, Eldar are just super cheese all around, but even they aren't as good at psychic things as big Ol' Emps. and Regal is better than Lloyd.
