I'm thinking make everything a bit more about the characters. I like what we have going on and the people involved but we can't sustain an RP on: "Hey look a battle, let's fight." "Alright we've fought let's talk things out." "Hey look another battle." It's just not going to work. I'm not saying that there shouldn't be any battles, that's sort of the entire point of Fire Emblem but maybe make them mean something a bit more and have them be a little less... well I suppose episodic would be the word. We need a wider goal we're marching too and we encounter chances to fight on the way. Also making it so player choices will have a greater effect wouldn't be bad thing. At the moment our choices could get us killed, injuries or leveled up but apart from that the story won't change much based on what our characters are doing. Introduce some situations that might fracture the Reclaimers or call loyalties into question. That would be fun. Also and this is more for everyone else than it is for Lug. Allow for some interaction on the battlefield. Get yourself into trouble and leave it to another unit to get you out. You're fighters don't have to be completely self sufficient. A lot of us are writing our characters getting injured and stuff (which is good cause no one likes untouchables) but you don't always have to get yourself out of trouble at the end. Be surrounded by enemies and wait for someone to help you. In Fire Emblem when you send a unit somewhere and realize it was a mistake you don't wait for that unit to survive or not you send in other units to support and defend them.
