I would note that very few 40k characters ever seem to have anything left to see in the universe. So inured to random happenstance disasters that nothing surprises them anymore. Seems to utterly bypass much of the point of 40k if your so cool that daemons are just a fact of life to you. And if every character that claimed to have been on a ship during a warp incursion or crippling was telling the truth there would be no human ships left.

People need to chill. It aint a sob story contest. everybody is cool. so chill.
