Eva's eyes darted between the three people confronting her, her fists clenched and cheeks growing red. Why did they all look down on her so much? Couldn't they see there was no place for her here? She served only as a sack of meat that needed protecting! Why did they want to take on that burden so badly? "Fine," she said, "I'll stay... but only if you let me do something. I'm sick of sitting around here and doing nothing! Take me on a mission or something - my abilities are really good for sneaking. I won't be useless, I promise!" As she spoke, her blush only deepened; those last words made her realize that what was really at stake here was her own sense of worth. She wanted to leave because staying made her feel like nothing but a burden, yet these people were all making it worse, acting like it didn't really matter if she went out and died!
