Jason
'i will survive, we don't live in that world anymore.' Jason thought this forcefully, and made it a sort of mantra. 'I will survive' that was his one and only goal, no matter what it cost. 'I've already killed, I can do what ever it takes now. Then again..' he looks back at the corpse 'It shouldn't have been that easy. I don't want to kill live people... Stop it man! This isn't helping' he steps over the body and retrieves his axe from the top of the stairs. Looking down the stairs he sees that the house is still empty, or the parts he could see. Shouldering the gun he walks down the stairs axe at the ready. He hears the noise of glass being crushed, probably underfoot. 'Oh god' he turns into the kitchen and sees a titan of a man, like a body builder or something, climbing through the broken glass door. The titan was a zombie, it was clear, most of his face was torn off revealing white bone. 'Oh god' The zombie instantly sees Jason, the creature reaches out for him and takes a step forward letting out a gurgling groan. A fear hit Jason in the deepest corner of his lizard brain. Being face to face with a zombie speaks to something primal, encoded into the genetic code. Fight or flight, run or kill. Jason hefted the axe and drove it down with all his might aimed directly at the zombies head. The axe blade glances off, the angle was wrong the swing didnt do any real damage. The zombie takes a step forward and tries to get its hands on Jason. 'OH GOD' He panics and scrambles back, the slowness of the zombie the only thing saving his life. He hefts the axe again and takes another swing, this time the axe connects and splatters undead brain, some of which hits his face. 'Oh god... that is disgusting.' he exits the house and decides some form of face cover will be very important. He heads out onto the roads aiming north for the community center. Repeating his mantra 'I will survive'
