Well, nobody likes the Purge either. I can see how there would be two anti-supernatural entities, ie. the Hive and Purge, because one is religious and fanatical and the other is more scientific. Purge are also totally ok with killing humans if necessary, ironically. 

Freelancer could perhaps be primarily an organization of individual vampire hunters with no real loyalties, sort of like a biker gang. eh?
