A quiet figure with the constant smile. To belong after the long and at times trying exploration was a welcome relief. He helped where he could bringing materials or water to the parched. John was glad to help. He cared for the pack and his actions reflected this simple truth. John did more as the time passed to make this a place they would be safe. Not a fan of fences, John cleaned out the stables. The work brought a sweat to his skin which he welcomed. No stranger to manual labor Johnathan enjoyed using the wheel barrel and moving the needed supplies or equipment to their new locations. He removed his shirt. Which he found near a good will bin during his travels. He was more wolf then man in the regard of the human need for clothes. The air and the sun felt better on his skin then any fabric. As the work continued his smile never faded. He shoveled out the last stall and refilled the toughs with water from the well pump. The air was clean and the water refreshing. Truly he felt relaxed in these new surroundings. The cooking in the morning brought out the best in him. The small satchel held his most precious herbs and own blends of seasonings. Dried lime slices waited to release their own little flavor to the right dish. A fire for dinner would require wood. Driven by this thought Johnathan took the axe from the barn. Although dull his strength would drive the blade regardless. He looked for trees that were suffocated From growing to close. Most would pick the closest trees but he knew the truth. A forest needs to be thinned allowing the older more established trees room they needed. He found the first one a pine. Placing a hand to the trunk he showed the resect his mother had taught him. With a upward swing he began to cut a wedge into the trees side. The pine was very narrow as it tried to reach more of the sky. The axe with his strength made the work quicker. He would chop it into sections large enough to give his body the exercise it loved. The sweat was already helping his body cool in the air. Johnathan's smile grew with each swing. The way his upright body helped him in these tasks made him happy. When he could use his mind to cook was even better.
