[@Emma]
When (what age?) and how do Fae go about choosing what court they are in. Or are they just born into it?
They are born into it generally. They may change their loyalties if their current Court becomes too dangerous. Much like seeking Asylum, however they must have broken with the Court legally. They swear loyalty in exchange for the protection and partnership almost with the Court. If this is broken they may flee to another court. If illegally they will most likely be enthralled with their Name.
Or is a court more of a binding term,
No it's a real Court. Throne, royal decrees and all.
Are there jobs, or professions other then court titles, or knights?
Yes, there are traders, smiths, weaves, farmers. There are other jobs that mesh with the species of the fae. Such as brownies that will clean a house, or some Fae that will mess with hair.
In the fae worlds are there towns, cities...? Are the courts reminiscent of like royal European court, a kings court taking place in a palace?
There are towns, though cities like we would think them are uncommon due to Fae living in tandem with nature. Some Fae have palaces and some don't. Falk has a complex hall, a palace in it's own right kind of.
I'm assuming cultures/traditions very from fae species to fae species?
Yup. Selkies differ in their ways from Ents, Gremlins differ from Elves. And The giant golemn that's wandering about is different in it's ways than the Tinkerbell Faries.
The whole having a power over knowing someones 'true' name? I'm assuming the name on the CS is not there 'true' name but their birth name? And that their true name is something only they know. Like in Eragon? or in the Caster Chronicles series?
No, the name you give me is the 'True Name'. Think Dresden Files. Your name consists of the letters/word and the cadence to how you speak it. Thus why it can only come from the mouth of the person it belongs to.
Does the fae realm resemble the human world (in terms of the map, and geography of earth.). Does it mirror earth? Minus the humans, tech, and so on?
It's sort of a whimsical version of that. The Fae have rearranged it to their liking over the Years.
Are their and religions? And does what fae you are define the kind of culture they follow(ed)? Like a Dijinn that is from Arabian/Islamic mythologies would dress in that kind of style. Or a Banshee from celtic myth, would be... idk?
There isn't a religon, generally. They are FAE! They are gods in their own right! (They are vain little narcissistic things.) Though culture is more about how a group thinks and what they do and how they act. Ents think themselves above the rest, The Gremlins are iron workers who follow humans more closely. Hobo-goblins that clean houses are more subservient and family oriented. It just depends on the Fae type. Very similar yet different.
