Ready for her attack Balothiss saw her coming her aim was directed at his face and she didn't aim to kill but rather to test him so she could see how his defenses worked.

He took a step forward slightly as she sprang forward and he blocked with his blade so her sword wouldn't reach his face, so Balothiss blocked her attack and then followed up with kicking her backwards aiming to make her fall onto her back making it hard for her to stand again.

He raised his hand to throw a fire ball and readied it so it turned blue so the fire was extremely hot.

He dimmed the flame a bit and he had his sword at the ready if she would spring at him without him being ready for another attack this time he stepped back giving her room for a good attack but allowing him opportunity to counter if she tried to attack.

He said to Sarin who he had kicked back.
