Maya wandered to a room on the second floor of the castle. The bedroom's decor was simple, and the bed looked comfortable enough; Even still, Maya sighed as she closed the door behind her. After Nightmares had taken residence in her brain, sleep wasn't something that Maya was well-acquainted with. She longed for a good night's rest, but the terrors always left her weak and weary. "They won't tonight..." Nightmare's chimed in. "I know you probably think I've been being mean," her childlike voice had a bit more of a pout in it than usual. "but I've only been preparing you for this. You are now more acclimated to living in true fear than other humans, and the more you know about it, the more of my powers you will be able to bear. But tonight, you need a good rest, I have a feeling tomorrow is going to be a big, bad day." Apparently, Nightmares didn't always have to use illusions to instill fear, as her final words left Maya trembling. What kind of hell could be in store for a demon to think it bad? Despite her fear, Maya fell into the temptation of a restful sleep. Almost as soon as her head touched the pillow, Maya sank into the most precious, silent, REM-heavy sleep she'd had in a long time. ~~~The Next Morning~~~ Maya woke with the birds. She wasn't used to getting that much sleep, let alone any at all, so it didn't seem too early. Despite Nightmares' foreboding warning for the day, Maya wore a brilliant smile. She piled her thick, wavy purple hair into a messy side ponytail and threw on a slouchy crop top and black skinny jeans before heading down to the kitchen, her stomach growling. Griffon and one of the other guys, whose name escape her, were already there. "I didn't expect anyone else to be up this early." she said to them, smiling despite the rosy tint rushing to her cheeks.
