[@Blizz] If I may suggest, if you want to recover your original idea, I'd work around the concept of an elemental who controls shadow. This could include the changing eye colour (I see no problem with eye changes in elementals, but if Haley has an issue then it IS their RP). If you want to change his appearance to include armour, you could choose to treat the shadows like a smokey substance, or give him moderate control over illusion. 

In literacy, shadow is often associated with illusion and mystery, so that's why I suggest it. Of course, if you come up with something else, by all means go for it. I hope I've helped!
