Peter's head tilted towards Lexi as she obviously knew who this guy was. Of course he's heard the stories of the "Devil of Hell's Kitchen" but he never really saw the guy, and whenever he showed up in Hell's Kitchen, there was nothing to be found. He looked back at the man who was now frowning slightly, and Spider-Man stood up. "I heard the stories but thought he was like the boogey man. I've been swinging around this city for a while now, so has Black Cat. Why show your face to us now?" He asked the man in red. "Because I haven't had any need for your help until now." Dare Devil said, and Spider-Man put his hands to his chest. "That kinda stung. I'm used to being rejected, but never by a fellow crime fighter." Spidey said jokingly, but it being a bit true. Not anymore, of course! He was happily in a relationship! Dare Devil simply smiled. "Its nothing personal. I've heard of your guys' accomplishments. You've saved this city in more ways then one countless times. But I kept to this part of New York for many reasons. One of the main reasons is because I've been keeping a certain man at bay in this area." "Something tells me that this is when you go..." "But--" "Yep, called it." Peter added quickly. "But he has gotten out of hand. Have you two ever heard of the name 'Kingpin' during your patrols?" He asked. Peter tried to think back, but he couldn't recall ever really hearing that name. Peter shook his head slightly. "I'm not surprised. He has kept himself under the rug for a very long time, but every criminal organization, ever master robbery, every organized crime is run by him. Hence the name. He's one of the richest, most powerful, most evil men I've heard of. I spend my time trying to track him down. He is planning something very big. Something that will make him controller of this City in more ways than just crime." As Peter listened, the more he was a bit frustrated; mostly at himself. He was supposed to be the protector of this city, and yet there was news about this mystery man he's never heard of and while Peter thought he was making a difference, in all honestly he wasn't. "Who is he? Where is he?" Peter asked. Dare Devil shook his head. "I don't know. Like I said, very few people even know the Title of Kingpin. But I do know his next big attack. I'm sure you're familiar with the Daily Bugle. They love to lash out at our kind of people." He gave another smirk. "He plans on assassinating the Chief, Jonah Jamenson, tomorrow night." At this time Peter's heart skipped a beat. He wasn't a fan of the guy, but he did JUST give Peter a job! And if there was a reason why this Kingpin guy was going after him, he had to assume that it wouldn't be good in the long run. "I'm going to need some help in stopping that from happening. You two know the city more than I do, you've seen much more of this place. I know you just met me, and I just made a very big claim, but I am not setting you up. This is about the city. We need to stop Kingpin before he gets to a point where he's untouchable." The man made a convincing point. He just met the guy, he didn't know if he was an enemy (a dude dressed up as the devil isn't really a friendly sight), and he really was making a large claim. "We'll see what we can do..." Peter hesitated for a minute. "We can also go in and survey the area. I know a guy-- This photographer. He works for the Bugle. He can tell me the layout of the building, and exits. Once he tells me, I'll tell you." Spider-Man said with a nod. Dare Devil, also known as Matt Murdock, gave a small smirk and nodded. "Sounds interesting... But I have to tell you, Kingpin is not like any foe you've faced. He's dangerous, smart, precise. Piss him off, and he WILL come after you... If you want to back away I can find others--" "Oh like who? Iron Man? This is our city, you told us your speech, and I'm all for solving this mystery with this new gang of heroes! All we need now is a talking dog." Spider-Man said. He knew he didn't really speak for Lexi, but he was sure she had the same mindset, and it was a lost cause trying to convince her to not help. She was just as stubborn as Peter. Dare Devil gave a hesitant nod and sighed. "I had a feeling that would be your answer..." He pulled out a usb device from his belt, tossing it towards Lexi. "That's everything I know of this guy. More proof for you guys. We'll meet up here an hour before Jamenson leaves the Bugle." Tomorrow Peter would take Lexi to visit the Daily Bugle after school, and as they drop more pictures off and Peter shows his girlfriend around, they would be trying to find anything out of the ordinary. It will be an interesting day.
