Alex briefly gave Corinthe a bewildered look. Would [i]She[/i] really use a pop culture reference as the solution to a puzzle? Had she been doing that for a while? Alex had seen The Lord of the Rings-- once, five years ago-- but she didn't at all remember the Doors of Durin, Lord of Moria, and neither did she understand what the inscription [i]meant[/i]. Neurons fired across the bow of Alex's mind, as she faintly reminisced of the scene the ineffable inscription came from.

"Yeah, yeah... that was from, eh... the scene with the big doors, right?" Said Alex, sheepishly. "Gandalf said something and opened the doors, or something like that? I guess... whatever it is he said should help get this thing open."

Alex wracked her brain for answers, and came up with nothing. What was it that the door said in the movie? "Speak and enter"? Speak [i]what?[/i] Alex brushed a wayward strand of hair back under her cap, and drummed her fingers on the puzzle box.

"Hey-- you don't happen to know what Gandalf said, do you?" Alex looked to Corinthe imploringly. The library [i]probably[/i] had the answer, but maybe she already knew it?
