Vilage, I just thought of something: When you encountered the issue with China, did you mean that Wu Zetian's name was still Wu Zetian? Or that her appearance was unchanged? See, I only changed the textual name of each leader, nothing more (save for an entire villainous personality for Janet Arnold).

I like to think that when you meet one of the modded civs, you're just talking to a representative that's really into cosplaying.

"Reconstruct the African regime." Suspicious wording is suspicious. But we'll see how that plays out.

It's purposefully vague because between Vilage and I we settled that the Ethiopian communist party would be there petitioning to the International, and they wouldn't like a plan rescue of Ethiopia without the International plying for some way to transition or force Africa to up-front communism.

Of course, they can't have all of it since China is pro-Yaqob and some other parties might swing in his favor (Cambodia would be sympathetic, being a constitutional monarchy in a sense, where-as Yaqob is a sort of son-of-China having been educated there and lived in exile in China). So if off the bat the purpose was to kick out the Spanish and then do what they were trying to do but communist wouldn't turn over very well.

So of course they're settling with a vague promise and deciding to decide to see how things are after-the-fact. If Ethiopia needs a new government for reconstruction and the role of the Solomonids rolled back: so be it.

But this is something I plan to go into detail later when I get the chance.

As a matter of fact, I have part of the Serbia mod already done. It's been laying around, and I didn't feel up to finishing it when I uploaded those others this morning. I could try and have it done in about an hour or two. Here's the UA I have planned for them:

1. Serbia under Neven Dragan
"One Balkan Nation" - Units receive a 50% combat bonus against City-States and City-State units. Pay 10% extra maintenance on Units for the Mafiya, and in turn the Mafiya provides 2+ Production from strategic resources.

Yeah, I figured it was something along the lines of this. As I said, we'll see how this plays out.

All the other ones work, it is just China that seems to be borked. And yes, I mean there was no name changes anywhere. It was just "Wu Zetian. China."

Regarding the US, it'd have to be something related to the difference between PoW America and real world America. At least, something that is positive. Isolationism as a jumping point is just the one I thought of, but there might be others. What ever works.

Also, how difficult would it be to swap the graphics for the leaders? Not making your own moving characters obviously, just replacing the diplomacy characters with static Aaron art or something. It isn't a big deal, but it is sort of goofy that...

Well, I guess that's a relief, in a way. Whatever, I'll make a new one altogether for China.

I actually considered that, and figured that I should go with something akin to that train of thought. Here's what I've got:

1. United States under Michael Norman
"Land of the Immigrants" - Every trade route per foreign civ/City-State provides 2 Gold, Production, and Science. 25% unhappiness from population due to civil rights issues.

See, I figured it would fit because...the US is made up of immigrants...and trade routes are like having...immigrants...yeah, it's not much of a connection, but it's better than the original UA.

Also, how difficult would it be to swap the graphics for the leaders? Not making your own moving characters obviously, just replacing the diplomacy characters with static Aaron art or something. It isn't a big deal, but it is sort of goofy that...

I'm gonna be honest with you: I prefer that the leaders look that way.

For one thing, there's not enough artwork for all the leaders. For another thing, I'm not even sure there's any way to replace the leader's talking audio. And for a third thing, as I said, I like to think that they're all just various representatives of their nations, and they're REALLY into cosplaying. I swear, Sotelo should hire a different diplomat...not to mention Arnold....

Regardless, in time, I'll replace the textbox stuff to where it's a more obvious indication that they're just cosplaying representatives. Methinks it'll be funnier that way.

I think a mod might push Aaron to doing more art (of what is done now, all that is missing is Jaret Arnold). Other than that, it is a matter of personal preference I suppose. I don't think the audio is to big of a deal (you might be able to disable it and just have read messages? I dunno). But the images are definitely silly. It is your mod though, man, do whatever you want to do with it.

How many nations are you planning on making?

Well, here's the list of nations I've made so far:

China, Ethiopia, Spain, Brazil, Canada

And the ones I intend to make in the future:

USA, Mexico, France, Prussia, the Russian Republic, Siberia, Great Britain, South Africa, Italy, Armenia, Japan, Serbia, Australia, and Florida (just for gits and shiggles)

Regardless, I'll gladly change the images if that would be more visually appealing. If enough of you guys would prefer it that way, then that's what I'll do.

By the way, THE NEXT BATCH OF CIVS ARE UP!

1. Armenia under Hasmik Assanian
"Rebellion from the Mountains" - After the first Great General, Units may cross over mountains (but receive 50 damage if they end their turn on one). 20% Combat bonus against larger civs.

2. The Japanese Empire under Akihito
"Legions of the Pacific" - Embarked units have 3 extra movement and pay just 1 movement to disembark. Naval maintenance reduced by 50%.

3. The United States under Michael Norman
"Land of the Immigrants" - Every trade route per foreign civ/City-State provides 2 Gold, Production, and Science. 25% population unhappiness due to civil rights issues.

4. Serbia under Neven Dragan
"One Balkan Nation" - Units have a 50% Combat bonus against City-States and City-State units. The Mafiya demands 10% extra maintenance for their services, but provide 2 Production from their strategic resources in return.

EDITED:

5. The Pan-African Empire under Yaqob Yohannes I
"Pan-African Union" - Cities start with extra founded territory. Forests and jungles in friendly territory are treated like roads by your Units.

I've gone ahead and added them to the PoW Mod Collection.

Also, this is my 69th post. ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Damn, that was quick.

Hell yes on Florida. Even if it isn't technically canon anymore, that shit is still classic.

Also, you should probably include Persia (with a cultural emphasis), The Western Communes, The Ottomans, and Georgia. Hell, if you can get bored you can add some classic shit like The Phillipines, Katanga, and Argentina.

Damn right it is. Sometimes I miss those old days...shit got crazy back then, am I right?

Oh, I knew I'd forgotten to mention some of those! Yeah, Persia and the Ottomans are certainly on my list. I've also wanted to do the Phillipines, too, but I torn on it because that might want to be left as a City-State for the scenario I'm working on. Still, I guess I could work on it.

As for the Western Communes, I felt like that should definitely stay a City-State because 1. It fits China's UA well, and 2. In a scenario it would make sense. Katanga, I might touch upon. Argentina is similar to the Western Communes in that it fits a different civ's UA better, especially in a scenario.

City-state wise, only Vietnam, Cambodia, Mongolia and that other country I forget really entered China proper with the UA. The Western Communes have an awkward relationship with China because of Siberia, and the Philippines was brought in militarily.

The two Finlands and North-Western Canada comes to mind also. But I don't want to give you a shit-load of work =p

I'm coming at this with minimal experience since I basically haven't played any Civ game since Civ 2 where the advisers were live-action. Also the direction I may be going will probably trigger Vilage so I'll just chunk it in a hider.

And I may be lazy and slow to arting, but some inspiration and purpose never hurt.

The Mongolian annexation or re-annexation was a pre-RP thing. Tibet was more recent and Japanese Taiwan.

More recent? Didn't all that happen in the sporum, except for Mindanao?

And if Aaron does do static images, we'll definitely want the Katanga Commune in. We need some Rouge General art, and conquering the world as Marcel would be pretty sweet anyway.

Mindanano was also recent, but that was also part of the larger Philippines things. The most recent direct military annexations into China would be Tibet and Taiwan.
