I have bumped the time frame forward not so much because of the actions taken by the Illuminati against the billions of humans, but more for the development of Earth and how the civilization has managed to survive without expansion into space. There's no way the world would have developed in the way it has in 1200 years from now, you'll see why when I make the update. 5000-6000 is a much more realistic timeframe. As for the apex of technology mentioned by [@The Omnipotent Sphere], that is what will make the technology familiar to us. All of the tech in this RP will mostly be stuff frequently seen in novels, movies and games to give it a familiar touch.

Besides, when compared with Warhammer 40k, which is set in the 40,000's, the 6000's isn't all too much of a big deal. ;)
