[@Hillan] Make Kyle happen. Carol's out of pocket in the Negative Zone and will be for some time, the Guardians are going to presume there's going to be some blowback from Sinestro/Carol's incursion there, so it makes sense that they'd move to replace them.

I've been writing under the assumption Alan isn't active or at least [i]partially[/i] retired. I may at some point have even attempted to explain his powers/ring being somewhat different to most Green Lanterns, because to be frank I think it does Alan's uniqueness a disservice to make him an ordinary (albeit older) Green Lantern.
