Oh, and don't forget the Flood and the Metroids. Although, you'd probably stand more chance against the Flood than the Orks and Metroids.

Ya know, maybe choosing a team of Baseball players wasn't the best idea. Especially when they're going up against Warhammer 40K Orcs. Meh. I'll make it work some how. But first I'll need a boat...

And if it ever gets too out of hand (read: unfun for everyone but, like, two people), I can always throw a couple of "mega events" at the world of Patchwork. Just to shake things up.

Well, I'll never, ever toss more than one metroid at anyone, nor will I toss one at anyone that can't stand a chance. I chose the Orks first because they're really tough and seem to be one of the most likely to figure out a way to beat them. I'm also considering tossing one at the Flood when he gets his intro up.

I'll probably make another sheet for a nation that's a bit more, well, sentient than the metroids. And numerous. I'm thinking of bringing some Crysis in if it's fine for me to make another sheet.

Here you go:

  • Differences between them and our real-life Russians

During World War 1 the Russian Civil War (October 1922) never happens, and the Romanov family (Royal Family that ruled Russia) were never killed. Joseph Stalin never takes power to become leader of the Soviet Union (1922–1953) so the Russian Empire ruled the nation for many more years. The Russian government was run by constitutional monarchy since the Revolution of 1905 still took place. Constitutional monarchy is a form of democratic government in which a nonpolitical monarch acts as head of state within the boundaries of a constitution, whether written or unwritten.

So they never really got involved in the First World War. During World War 2 Hitler almost took over their country until the United States decides to get involved and saves Russia. Nicholas the Second (King of the Russian Empire) gave his thanks to the U.S and decided to join the Allies to support them against Hitler’s forces and later the Japanese. Unfortunately since the Soviet Union never existed Hitler gained control of Europe. The U.S and Russia nearly lost the war but it ended in a stalemate. The Axis forces later assassinated Hitler. Most of Europe spoke German and was controlled under their laws.

The Russians in the 50's conquered Vietnam which expanded their Territory. The British were nearly crippled during WW2 since they were basically ally-less. A cold war started between New Europe and Russia/U.S. New Europe had a Revolution which removed the Nazi party from power in the mid 80's which ended the cold war with New Europe. Since then New Europe revived human rights and made new laws. New Europe ended up becoming a Super Power in the late 90’s with China following closely behind them in military and economic power. In modern day Russia the Royal family was still in existence but has a much lesser role. The first Prime Minister came to power in the 70’s and later elected was Paul Newport in the early 90’s. The Russian Empire had no term limits for its Prime Ministers.
In the present day there were no major wars currently going on.

  • What this group of people is doing in a bit of mostly-empty terrain with some ruins?

What do you mean? Sorry I don't think I get what you are trying to ask.

I believe Raidne is asking what your Russians were doing when they were transported to the new world. I wager she's asking this because your hex information states that your faction is in the middle of no where.

As normal. Obviously, unless you've got a radio tower handy, you won't be able to transmit as far.

I dug into it a bit and decided that the ionosphere on Patchwork is quite healthy at the moment - we're in a peak period of solar activity - so you can go ahead and use the whole HF range up to 30 MHz around the clock. Just in case that actually means anything to you.

Maxxorlord's got it. I'm just curious why your Russians are in that particular chunk of land when they get teleported. Also, you might be interested in http://www.alternatehistory.com/Discussion/.

Ok. So last question before I get a post goin.

In my first post (or at least one of my very early ones) my faction will begin work on a boat, now since it will have to be a makeshift boat due to lack of material, will you do some kind of behind the scenes GM rolling to see if they make it or is it up to me to make it fair?

It's (mostly) completely up to you. This RP relies upon roleplaying rather than dice-rolling.

Wait. Can the trolls even survive? They can't leave their hex otherwise the sun will cause very irritating burns, hindering the movement. Because Alternia's sun is so incredibly hot they adapted to underground movig and have skin that isn't use to direct sunlight. (Terezi looked at the sun for one second and went blind. Imagine them being in direct sunlight all day when outside their hex. Even though it's not the Alternian sun it'll still hurt like hell)

Honest question: has the number of new players and factions scared people off? Because I was planning on keeping this RP open to new players for eternity, but if you guys are uncomfortable with that, I can arbitrarily cap it at 10 active players (I think that's equal to the number of people interested/currently in this RP). The reason I bring it up is that I've noticed that the IC has been inactive for a good two days or so, while the OOC's got a new post around every 12 hours or so.
|Kabensaal:

I can't help you. I know next to nothing about (Wheel of Time?), other than my friends insisting that I read it.

Nerevarine:

Looks okay. I'm still doing research (totally not reading all of homestuck because that's the only way I can make sense of anything). One note is that the hexes are supposed to be a mile wide at their widest point, but then, I already broke that rule accidentally.

You should read it. But if you not a patient reader, you'll never get passed the 3rd book. They are good, but slow.

And really, you don't need to know anything. Just make a discision. Neither is better.

(im going to post my faction over here as well.)
Faction Name: Cravers
Universe: Endless Space , Craver drones
Summary in a Sentence: Highly aggressive Part machine, part-insect spices, their hive has only one goal: to consume.
Description: [history] The Cravers were created by the Virtual Endless to use as a weapon against the Concrete Endless. They would swarm the enemy and use any available resources to feed the hive, replenishing their numbers and strength. Before long, the Virtuals realized the threat this new race posed to the galaxy, so they marooned them onto an isolated planet and then bombed the surface in an attempt to eliminate them. However, the war with the Concrete eliminated the Virtuals before the Virtuals were able to eliminate the Cravers. The insectoid race rebuilt its "civilization" and eventually learned to become a space faring race. The hive, at long last, could begin truly feeding.
[Society] The Cravers live in a colony, a super organism. Somewhat like the ants and bees of Earth, they are biologically divided into different subtypes. The lowest ranks are not capable of independent thought: that is reserved for higher subtypes like the "Bishop" level or the most powerful 'Warlord' level. The two most common type of the craver subtypes are the workers and drones. Workers do all of the manual labor of the colony from production to food gathering. Drones are the basic warriors of the hive standing at 8’2; they are stubborn fighters battling to the death. Due to this they take great amount of death and injures, Craver drone will usually replace parts of their body with robotic parts if they are injury resulting with more veteran drones looking more like a machine than organic. One level above the drones is the warrior this lead squads of drones into combat they start out as drones but they undergo chemical and mechanical augmentation there about a foot taller than the drones they lead. But the processes for turn drone into a warrior can sometimes drive the drone into a berserk state during battle driving them to attack friend and foe alike, the most ruthless among those can become the champion of their warlord. To a certain degree, the Cravers rely on pheromones to communicate. Reproduction is accomplished through not one, but multiple queens. The society has no idea of peace. The concepts of diplomacy, peace, or mercy mean nothing to them. They only know war. The other races are merely prey. Prey that can fight back, but prey nonetheless. As a matter of fact, should the Cravers cease expanding, they will deplete whatever resources they control, and the society might consume itself. Races that are conquered by the Cravers are used as slaves or food stalk. They also have great hate towards the Automatons who have fought them for the past 1500 years.
Technology Level: Craver technology is advance to a certain degree some of their tech was looted from other races or developed by them.
