Alexander answered his first question with, "16." He then looked over to see the three figures as well. He then looked back at Mort. "Yes."

While the girls in his group were conversing with each other, Mikey decided to take a look at their surroundings, his eyes scanning the area. He saw a frog-like creature and a man with long red hair in the distance. "I see more people over there, girls."

A loud bubbly noise could nearby and the creature was lurking underground. It's noise could be easily mistaken as a volcano about to erupt. 

Hearing Lex's words, he looked around to see if he spot the live thing he mentioned. He didn't see anything, but heard a noise that sounded like an erupting volcano. "If there is something here, I hear it, but don't see it."
