Kari upon seeing his serious attitude was concerned. "Father is everything alright?" Kari had asked. "Yes my dear everything is fine." Herald paused for a moment and then continued what he had to say. "Kari I have decided it is time for you to marry, the groom I have chosen for you is Emperor Jakob of Tangaria but he doesn't know this yet." Kari was the poster child for being a proper lady and she had always dreamed of being swept off her feet by a powerful monarch and then riding into the sunset with him. Kari broke into a giant smile ran over to her father and hugged him. "I love you dad I promise I will help make the marriage work!" Kari shouted. Herald hugged her back "I know you will dear, I will write to Emperor Jakob now to discuss if this marriage could take place but for now you must wait. Even though we are quite friendly with the Tangarians alliances aren't forged in a day." Herald had told her. Kari was satisfied with what he had to say and left Herald's room and Herald was happy that she was happy about the marriage but Herald wasn't just doing this for her happiness. Herald had decided that he wanted to integrate the Tangarians into his own empire. If Herald could marry his royal Skeptonian daughter to a Emperor of Skeptonian descent then it would be easier to integrate the Tangarians.
Jakob our two great nations have had great relations for a long time and I think it is in both of our interest to strengthen those relations. Since you are a man of Skeptonian descent I was interested in arranging a marriage between my youngest daughter Kari and yourself. I would have taken this request to you personally but I am unable to leave Skeptoni at the moment. Sincerely, Keiser Herald Skaneg.
Herald sat his ink pen down and was satisfied with what he had wrote. The first part of his plan was in motion.
