Procrastination won and now I'm stuck writing my paper for tomorrow's 9 o'clock class. Time to get started. Oh well. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

You've fallen to the Dark Side. Probably for the billionth time, going off personal experience.I wish you luck with that sucky assignment, though. How many pages/amount of research needed?

22 pages would kill me, always a slow reader. I had small-font, 40-page chapters I had to do outlines for in one class, every other week. I'd wait until the night before, and then spend 6 hours doing it...Though, if you're a good reader or smarter about it, it won't be an issue. And the fact that the article isn't mind-numbingly boring helps.

I'm a pretty fast reader, but what makes me nervous is that everything is so open-ended for this assignment. "Choose your own article as long as it meets criteria." I've read the criteria over and over again and I still think this article is good... but I don't know. Those doubts, man.

Ha, yes. Open-ended assignments.Don't get too worried about it. If your basic plan fits the requirements, you're gold (so long as the teacher isn't of the spacey whimsical sort). Remember, worse comes to worst, and there's no time for an alternative, BS it. :']
1) The first section should introduce the research question posed in the article and briefly
summarize the methods and theory applied by the researchers. In other words, discuss the
motivation for the study, how the author(s) conducted their research, and what broad
theory/theories informed their research.
Abstract. This article provides an overview of hostage negotiations, drawing upon historical
cases and analyzing them from the perspective of negotiation theory. Various situational factors
are studied, including the parties involved, hostage taker motivations and profiles, negotiator
objectives and what is considered to be negotiable, the issue of legitimacy, and the
negotiation context. The article also analyzes the dynamics of the negotiation process, addressing
the different phases, hostage attitudes, information gathering, and the role of the media and
public opinion. The intercultural and psychological dimensions of hostage negotiation are also
addressed. The final section of the article considers end-game scenarios, and assessing the negotiation
outcome of such complex and uncertain processes.

Awson as far as I'm concerned you are still my kid from Sims 3. I'm your spooky ghost father so I'll hear none of that!

It's not a hard-core science experiment, but it sounds like it researches/looks into records, references. etc. to get a conclusion. The question is broad, but it basically seems to be, "What are the results of these hostage negotiations, and how do various factors impact it?"I'm only glimpsing at it, and someone might give you a more focused statement, but there's definitely a question and answer you can interpret from that article.

You were never there.

Kind of what I was thinking, but with another person saying it, I feel better about it. The extra bonus is that I'm almost done reading it and it is really easier to do a paper on to. My other article was about politics, which would have bore me to death. So thanks.

What cryptic statement is that? Of course I was there Awson. Turt killed me because I was wealthy and wanted the inheritance.
