Story
13 years ago, in Bixby Oklahoma, a group of teens saved their town from utter demolition on Halloween using the secrets of a Secret Hour between 12:00 and 12:01 that only they could experience. In this time they all had unique powers that helped them combat the monsters in the night. Once the Flame Bringer ended the darkling's attack on Bixby, this hour - and it's contents - spread to other places that had co-ordinates that were intersections of multiples of 12. The town of Klintin just happens to be sitting on those co-ordinates.
Known Types of Darklings
Slithers
Slithers are the vermin of midnight. They are often found in larger hoards serving a higher ranking Darkling. They look like small black snakes and can transform into small black cats. Sometimes have wings, and the ones with wings cant become their cat form.
Panther-Like
Panther-Like Darklings are just that, larger versions of the Slither's cat transformation. They can command Slithers. The majority of them have wings that retract into the body upon landing.
Crawler
Crawlers are spider like in shape when not in transit, but when they fly they turn into a black glob with wings. They command Slithers just like Panther-Like Darklings. All of them have flight capabilities. When they die by puncture or slicing wound, they disperse huge amounts of tiny Crawlers.
Halfling
Halflings are Darklings made from a Seer at midnight in a specific place without the Seer's consent. They are human like in shape and the Seer's face is visible in the chest of the Darkling. They can read lore symbols and have all the capabilities of a Darkling. If it is in the open when the sun rises the Seer will be freed. They command all lower ranking Darklings, which will defend it with their lives. All Halflings can fly. They sometimes contact Humans to attempt to kill Midnighters.
Old One (Or Ethereal Horror to some Midnighters and Darkling-Associated Humans)
Old Ones are Darklings that are older than the Blue Time itself, they have no likeness outside the Secret Hour. They look like a tentacle covered gelatinous glob, around the height of 3 humans one atop the other. They are almost immune to Tridecalogisims and Tridecagrams. They can touch you with a single tentacle and cause you to have a nightmare. They feed off the nightmares of humans. They always hover a few feet above the ground and barely ever leave their homes. They are the highest ranking of Darkling.
Skills
Acrobats in the Secret Hour are not held down by gravity the same as during the rest of the day. Seemingly always floating, and able to jump or "fly" fair distances. Like all Midnighters their eyes are photosensitive in the Daylight and reflect back indigo in the secret hour. They also must eat almost constantly and while in the Secret Hour can share their ability with others through skin to skin contact.
Seers are the Lore keepers. While blind as bats in the Daylight, they know where Darklings or Slithers have been since they leave a sharp, clear "focused" slime like trail or print. They are also photosensitive and like all other Midnighters their eyes flash indigo. They can read and write in the ancient symbols used by Midnighters for thousands of years. Seers can also pick out Midnighters during the Daylight hours claiming their faces being fuzzy with their glasses on and clear when off.
Polymaths are literal math geniuses. Often with a photographic memory towards numbers (especially 13 and it's multiples) patterns. They often create they best weapons against Darklings. Like all Midnighters they are photosensitive and flash indigo in the Secret Hour. Their power never shuts off, often dreaming in numbers or images.
Flame Bringers are Darklings worst nightmares. They have the ability to bring things like fire and modern day technology into the Secret Hour. While they can kick some serious Darkling ass, they are just like a regular Daylighter and have no adverse affects from being a Midnighter other than the fact that all Darklings want to kill them. These are semi-off-limits due to God Modding and plot reasons, if you would like to play as a Flame Bringer please PM me.
Metallurges are people who have the ability to find precious stones, metals, minerals, oil, water and probably natural gas in the earth. Like the other Midnighters they are photosensitive and their eyes flash indigo in the Secret Hour.
Mindcasters are basically mindreaders. Manipulators and Darkling Radars. They can force (ahem I mean) "suggest" a person to do something miles away. Wipe someones memory and when in full control of their skill can pass information on through a touch. They can sense who is and who isn't a Midnighter and have been known to recruit Midnighters from all across the country. They are often darker in nature, feeling most a home in the Secret hour and a fairly rare occurrence not as rare as a Flame Bringer but close. They are most like the Darklings than any other Midnighter. Very photosensitive and their eyes flash indigo.

As toward the Geography of the town, I am open to suggestion if you know any real place we could put it in, but otherwise, it is a fully fictional place in the US somewhere in the north-east. It sits in a valley with tall Granite mountains on all sides and a river to the south that cuts through the mountains.
