Like most Jedi, he is physically fit and carries with him large muscles that have seen years of training. He is olive skinned with a good complexion and has thick dark hair. His most distinguishing features are his implants that are visible on various parts of his body; the most obvious ones being the ones beneath his eyes on his ears. Were it not for his implants, Rylos would probably be considered moderately handsome. Rylos tends to wear typical Jedi attire; a brown robe over grey clothes. Force Abilities:

Core Abilities - Telekenesis, Mind Control, Force Jump and Force Speed
Force Empath – Rylos has a very strong ability to empathise with others through the force. Using this ability he is able to read their emotions, and can almost always tell when someone is lying. As an extension of this, he is also able to reflect his own emotions onto others when they are particularly strong (but he doesn’t really have control over this). Unfortunately, given how strong this ability is, he can occasionally be bombarded with the emotions of others.
Non-Force Abilities:

Lightsaber combat – Rylos, like most Jedi, has a good understanding of Form I (Shii-Cho). As was the case with many Jedi of his time, he was more used to coming up against blaster fire than melee weapons (especially when investigating crime syndicates); as a result he was taught Form III (Soresu) by his master. Following his master’s footsteps, he wields a yellow lightsaber.
Pain Resistance – Rylos has cybernetic implants that help regulate his chemical and hormonal reactions to reduce pain. These were implanted after his force empathy kept leading him to developing migraines. He can still very much feel pain though, and can be physically injured as easily as any other human. It’s not particularly healthy for him to rely on this, and the implant leaves him vulnerable to electronic attacks.
Investigator – As the pupil of a Jedi Investigator, Rylos has spent years taking part in investigations and has learned a great deal. From analysing crime scenes to interviewing witnesses, Rylos is on his way to becoming a top-notch investigator. He has experience combating both crime and hostile political actions (e.g. assassinations).
Shuttle Pilot – Having become accustomed to traveling around on the core planets, Rylos is now competent at flying the average commercial shuttle. He has yet to fly anything capable of space flight though.
Personality/Motivation: Rylos is a very kind and social individual, with a very strong moral compass. He is able to form bonds quickly and often people are quick to trust him. It is his strong sense of empathy that guides him and gives him a strong sense of justice. Because of his use of Force Empathy, he often feels a range of emotions and this separates him from many of his brothers and sisters. Although they are not always his emotions per say, because he often feels things like anger and sadness he could be considered a grey Jedi. Despite all this, he has very good control over his actions; if he acted on every emotion (especially when they weren’t his own), he’d have fallen long ago. Because he is an Empath, sometimes he can be prone to mood swings and if there’s too much going on he can become confused and pained. He finds it hard to do harm to others because he often feels the pain that he causes them. Those around him should be (but often aren’t) aware that his emotions can also be reflected onto them. Biography:
Early life Rylos was born on Coruscant and was the second child of Roku Shimazu, the sole owner of Shimazu Industries. His mother was the second wife of Roku, and thus Rylos’ older brother was only his half-brother. Growing up in a ludicrously rich family on the prestigious capital planet, Rylos clearly had a very easy life when he was young. Shimazu Industries after all were considered to be one of the best manufacturer of top-quality cybernetics in the galaxy (although they were certainly far from one of the largest). However Rylos never really received the chance to enjoy this life of luxury, as it became clear from an early age that he was a force sensitive; as was the case with many Jedi. Even when Rylos was a baby there appeared to be something a little odd about him, something which friends and family seemed to pick up on. As a baby (and toddler) he seemed to mimic the moods of those around him. If his father got mad, he would throw a tantrum. If his mother cried, he would cry. If he brother laughed, he would laugh. Though it doesn’t sound too odd, it’s frequently certainly was; it was as if his moods were never really his own. This first sign went mostly ignored however, and it wasn’t until about the age of four when he started flinging objects around with his mind that it became obvious he was force sensitive. Initially his father did his best to hide Rylos’ abilities, not wanting to lose his son to the Jedi order. But unfortunately Rylos’s brother, who was only young himself, was unable to keep the secret. Word quickly spread and found its way to the Jedi, who inevitably came knocking round the family house. Roku was reluctant to give up his son but in the end didn’t really have a choice. And it would be a matter of years before he would get a chance to see him again.

Life as a youngling and initiate Like most younglings, Rylos was trained at the Jedi Academy for years before taking his initiate trials. As a student Rylos was not considered to be a prodigy of any sort, and in fact some instructors felt that he was a rather bad student. He never really fully adjusted to being removed from his family, although he was quick to fill the gap by forming close bonds with other students. Rylos seemed to be able to surpass language barriers and form connections with every student he came into close contact with, able to subconsciously pick up on their feelings. During classes he became a source of annoyance for his teachers, for he would often mess around and distract other students. Although neither he nor his teachers knew it, it was not his fault – he simply felt the combined boredom and restlessness of the other students, and as a result was unable to focus. As he got older his behaviour seemed to get worse. Whilst his use of the force was slightly above average, his teachers worried that he was failing in many other areas and still struggled to control his emotions. Of course puberty did not help this in the slightest; worrying about his own emotions was hard enough, but he was surrounded by others going through wild mood swings and it almost drove him mad. All signs seemed to suggest that he would end up in the Jedi Service Corps, and that if anything he would need to be monitored to ensure that he didn’t begin to fall to the dark side. It wasn’t until a newly Knighted Jedi Sentinel visited the temple in search of a new Padawan that Rylos’ abilities were understood. The Jedi was a relatively young Togruta by the name of Bastila Leneer, who served as an Investigator. She, like many masters and students, was drawn to Rylos. She was told by his teachers about the problems he had, and felt that it was her destiny to help him. When Leneer first met Rylos they seemed to get along very well; she approached him with a kind and friendly demeanour and he seemed to do the same. It was only when an angry student marched by and Rylos’ mood quickly changed that she realised what no one else had – that he was a force empath. She asked Rylos if he wouldn’t mind meditating, and when he did she could see that he was picking up on a wider range of emotions, which led him to becoming restless and confused. Then she asked him to focus on her, whilst she cleared her mind, and he seemed to calm down. Although some of the other Jedi at the temple were hesitant, Leneer insisted on making Rylos her padawan so that she could help him control his ability. Given how she had managed to decipher his problem and calm him down so quickly, she certainly seemed like his best hope. And despite the concerns of others, Leneer could tell that Rylos wasn’t likely to fall to the darkside because the same empathy that led him to feeling emotions like anger and suffering would also stop him from inflicting pain onto others. Moreover, she knew that empathy was a key skill in investigations and believed that with the right guidance, Rylos could become a great investigator.

Early apprenticeship Once becoming an official padawan, Rylos was taken to Ilum in order to construct a new, more personalised lightsaber. His experience on Ilum was not as hazardous as other’s had been, and in fact only the environment on the icy planet seemed to provide a challenge. When Rylos was taken to the crystal cave that Leneer herself had visited, he was told to venture in alone and face whatever visions plagued him. Oddly, many of the visions he had entering the cave seemed alien to him. They were visions of other Jedi who had entered the cave, echoes of the past, and none appeared hostile towards him. Only when he ventured deeper into the caves did he find himself at an impasse, for he was confronted by a vision of his distraught father. The vision made him feel guilty and tried to make him doubt his loyalty to the Jedi, but did not succeed. When at last Rylos found the crystal formations he once again saw an echo of the past, watching as a vision of Leneer made her lightsaber. When she finished her apparition faded away but the lightsaber remained, having actually been made by Rylos during his trance. It’s because of this weird twist of fate that Rylos has an identical lightsaber to his master. Accompanying his master and sharing her assignments, Rylos went on to investigate accusations of corruption and criminal syndicates across the Republic. These were cases that the regular authorities or Republic Intelligence were not quite equipped to deal with. Many of these cases involved criminals taking advantage of the Separatist Crisis, and on quite a few occasions the master and apprentice were drawn into some fierce battles. During this time the pair established many links with individuals working in Republic Intelligence and its counterpart, the SBI. Throughout these travels, Rylos learned how to focus and control his Force Empathy, learning to separate his own emotions from that of others. When he struggled to keep a clear mind he also learned to focus on Leneer and feed off of her calmness; she would become his much needed anchor as he developed.

Height of the Separatist Crisis After a few years under his master, when he was 18 years old, an assassination attempt was made against Senator Padmé Amidala. Following this event, Rylos and Leneer was tasked with investigating the attack and finding the culprits. Unfortunately they were unable to locate the assassin before she was able to make another attempt on the Senators life. The actual assassin in the end was apprehended by Obi-Wan Kenobi and Anakin Skywalker before being killed by Jango Fett. As a result of this they were briefly held in a very dim light by the Jedi Council. In an effort to redeem themselves, Leneer and Rylos followed up multiple leads that they had established during their intial investigation into the assassination and ended up uncovering a web of conspiracies. It would turn out that multiple assassins and bounty hunters had been hired by the Separatists to kill a variety of Senators. As a result of this, Rylor and Leneer ended up spending the majority of the Clone Wars on Coruscant and other core planets hunting down the assassins as well as preventing further subterfuge. During this period Rylos continued to develop his control over his Force Empathy, reaching a stage where he no longer had to rely on Leneer as a source of calmness. He also found that with focus he could sense and read the emotions of individuals over great distances. Unfortunately things were not perfect, for as he exhibited more control over his ability he began to suffer from intense migraines. Unable to fulfil his duties due to the migraines, Rylos decided to see his father for the first time in a decade. Although his father knew little about the Force, he was able to help his son by giving him implants that enabled him to manage the pain.

The investigation into Armand Isard, Director of SBI In 19.5 BBY the Jedi Council received word that the planet Orleon, a rainy planet in the Mid Rim, had been destroyed by bio-engineered creatures known as Stone Mites. These weaponised creatures had quickly overrun the planet, eating anything and everything and eventually even ate through the planets crust. As a result of this, the entire population was either killed or forced to evacuate. Because of the severity of the situation, the Jedi tasked Rylos and Leneer (along with others) to investigate. During this investigation they received tips through friends and contacts in the SBI that it had in fact been ordered by the Director of SBI, Armand Isard. Of course such incredibly hostile actions could never be condoned by the Republic, so it was very much kept a secret. And given that it was the director of SBI that ordered it, it had been a very well kept and unprovable secret. Over the course of months Rylos and Leneer tried to pressure their contacts for more information, but there was simply no evidence of the SBI’s involvement. They tried to locate the bio-labs that the SBI had used to engineer their own mites, but the sites were always long gone by the time that the Jedi investigated. In the end they were not able to prove that it had been Isard behind it, and came to accept that it was more reasonable to believe that Dr Jenna Zan Arbor, who had originally engineered the mites, was likely responsible. Rylos and Leneer’s interest in Isard did not end there however, for towards the very end of the Clone Wars the Jedi Council began to grow weary of the power that Chancellor Palpatine was amassing, and also of the actions that his council was taking. Isard, as a close ally of Palpatine and a mainstay at the Chancellor’s conferences (even at those with the Jedi council), was also placed under the radar. Under the direct orders of the High Council, Rylos and Leneer were tasked with investigating Armand Isard again. The two were chosen because not only had they previously investigated Isard, but because they had proved to be unbiased in that previous investigation. The two of them began their investigation by trying to determine exactly what the relationship was like between Isard and Palpatine, and where it started. They learned very quickly that Isard had become an associate of Palpatine whilst he was still a Senator of Naboo and with a little digging were able to find records that claimed that Palpatine had planted incriminating evidence against his rivals. This immediately began to ring alarm bells, and so the two Jedi set about meeting with various politicians that had rivalled Palpatine at the time. Whilst many were unwilling to talk, a few were convinced by Rylos (using his force empathy) to open up. They told him that Palpatine’s followers, including Isard, had fabricated and planted incriminating evidence on those opposing him. This information seemed to confirm the Council’s fears regarding Palpatine, but at this stage in the investigation had little physical evidence to prove wrong doing. Later in the investigation, after again reaching out to friends in the SBI, the two learned of multiple subdirectors who had been fired by Isard at around the same period of time. When the duo managed to track down these individuals, they’re stories seemed to mirror that of the Naboo politicians; they claimed that they had incriminating evidence of corruption planted on them. None of those fired were loyal to Palpatine, and some even openly disliked him. Given that it appeared that they were replaced by Palpatine Loyalists, it appeared much again to be a sign that the Chancellor had been amassing power through the help of Isard. Unfortunately the Jedi were again unable to secure any evidence of the claims, beside the testimonies of supposedly corrupt officials. Because of this they gave up trying to form a case against him and simply continued to monitor Isard and relay information back to the council. When the Battle of Coruscant erupted, Rylos and Leneer were among the Republic Forces following leads on Darth Sidious (this of course being more important that watching Isard). They were actually on their way to 500 Republica to meet up with Mace Windu and Captain Dyne when the chaos begun. They were forced to redirect their attention and fight in the battle, helping the republic to win various skirmishes. Once the battle was over they led the squad tasked with finding Captain Dyne and continuing the trail after Darth Sidious, but were unable to locate either.

At present, Rylos is not far off becoming a Knight and is expected to pass the last of the trails in the coming months. Moreover, his ability to control Force Empathy has continued to grow past expectations and has recently discovered that he is also able to project his emotions onto others when they are strong enough. When Operation Knightfall begun, Rylos was waiting for Leneer in the Jedi Temple. After learning the true identity of Darth Sidious, Agen Kolar instructed the duo to arrest Isard whilst he and other Jedi Masters confronted the Dark Lord. Other suitable Jedi have been sent after other close allies of Palpatine, but Rylos and Leneer do not know the details. Even ignoring the investigation of Isard, his close connection to the Dark Lord of the Sith was more than enough reason to detain him. Despite the gravity of the situation, Rylos and Leneer have not told anyone about the information passed on from Agen Kolar in case others try to hinder or interfere.
Secrets: Whilst those that know Rylos are probably aware of his ability to use Force Empathy, only a couple of people truly understand the extent of this ability. This is not a secret per say, but rather something that he tries to be discreet about. Rylos made many contacts in SBI and Republic Intelligence, many of whom talked to him and Leneer without telling their superiors (particularly where the SBI and Isard where concerned). Relations: Bastila Leneer – The Jedi Knight and Investigator that took on Rylos as a Padawan. Unlike other Jedi, she did not see Rylos’ high levels of emotion and empathy as a negative thing, knowing that it could make him an effective investigator. The two became very close and had very much a brother/sister type relationship. Captain Dyne – Rylos has worked with Captain Dyne on multiple occasions, with Dyne often acting as the Republic Intelligence’s liaison to Leneer and Rylos. Following the Battle of Coruscant, Rylos and Leneer were sent to try find Dyne, who had last been seen following the trail of Darth Sidious beneath 500 Republica. Unfortunately they were unable to find any signs of Dyne nor the Sith Lord. Worror Taldura – Rylos remembers Worror from the Academy, but did not ever have much interaction with him. He remembered how calm and safe he felt in his presence. T'ish Keth - Rylos has previously worked with T'ish, the two of them once saving the life of Senator Fang Zar. As the two Jedi spend considerable amounts of time of Coruscant they occasionally bump into each other, and if so, will usually share a few kind words. [OTHER PLAYER RELATIONS TBF]
