Another Pokemon OC from a 1x1 about a year ago.
Name: Taylor (a little uncreative, but oh well). Gender: Male. Description: A fairly typical Leavanny in body shape, thin and twiggy but not particularly tall. Taylor is prone to replacing the leaf cowl around his head with a scarf, bandanna or simple straw hat. Similarly, Taylor likes to accessorise himself (or others) with colourful leaves and petals woven into bands, laces or simple clothes like capes or ponchos. His right antenna has an odd bend, so it usually droops over his face while his left stays upright. Taylor has a habit of moving on all fours with the tips of his hands, especially when he's nervous or upset. Personality: Empathic. Taylor unconsciously picks up on other Pokemon's moods, shifting from lively to glum to follow changes in his acquaintances. A cheerful Taylor is prone to dancing and bouncing around, distributing hugs and gifts energetically. When he's less happy, Taylor quiets down considerably, mumbling and avoiding eye contact when he's upset, twitching nervously when he's scared. Taylor rarely gets angry, but some things will frustrate him. All of his moods tend towards some form of shyness, be it giddy embarrassment when he's happy or meekness when he's sad, or jittery paranoia when he's scared. Left to himself, he can hold a mood for hours before starting to daydream and wander absentmindedly. Battle detail: Taylor often wears enough leaves to keep comfortable in any weather. He can also weave coverings for other Pokemon to share. A lot of love goes into anything Taylor fashions, and sometimes a little magic, too- Though like any magic trick, this will only work once. Like most Leavanny, he can cut open and stitch closed leaves or other objects. Taylor also has a good sense of rhythm, and if he's relaxed, he can pull of a subtle dance, a joyful song or a mellowing lullaby. Very sensitive to other's actions, Taylor has sometimes made uncanny guesses about their intentions when emotions run high. His strangest skill, though, would be his ability to see other's dreams like wisps of smoke in the air, and he can inhale them, sharing them unknown to the dreamer.
A mundane human character for a deification roleplay that I kinda liked but somehow didn't feel cohesive...
Name: Kaeryn Elbe, She/her. Age: 17. Personality: Until recently a meticulous student, Kaeryn has a tendency to see challenges where none have been issued and seize them with both hands, even though they often develop into frustration rather than the smug satisfaction she thrives on. Kaeryn has few aspirations of her own, being like many teenagers still confused about her future career path, but has well-established ideals elsewhere and will debate them thoroughly and ardently. She maintains a ready confidence that almost never gives way to arrogance, though Kaeryn's self-esteem is still far from infallible. Typically generous where she can afford to be, she does have a well established base of friends with whom she interacts enthusiastically, though she's well known to get along with adults, or function independently for long stretches of time. Interests: Kaeryn keeps herself busy with studies, both for her school and personal enjoyment of learning. She has vaguely considered pursuing a career in medical science or microbiology as her school career comes to an end, and occasionally attends open university lectures to test the waters. Her personal interests are also chiefly related to the life sciences, particularly the history of their pursuit and speculation of what might have been. Her walls are postered with art of hypothetical species and old hoaxes. She enjoys travelling to art galleries, but doesn't consider herself to have an eye for crafting anything noteworthy herself. Her determination has made her a capable boxer, and she sees no harm in spectating a good fight. She has strong views on pet ethics. History: Firstborn to a single but enormously talented mother, Kaeryn was raised to take on the world with more vigour than she could afford. After a wildly popular lower childhood, she entered high school with expectations of much of the same. Towards the halfway mark of her last year, however, a recurring lung infection has been causing her grades to dip and her boxing to discontinue. Knowing that her ability to keep up with her own burgeoning expectations of herself are deteriorating has recently caused her to sink into anxiety. Kaeryn refuses to stop trying, though she is doing herself no favours. Appearance: Moderately tall, even for a teenager, at about 170 centimetres, with a solid build- Soft enough to cuddle, but sporting more than enough muscle weight to box most other students out of the hypothetical ring. Short, dark hair is kept in a curly pixie cut. Fairly dark skin around a set of matching eyes and a pierced nose. She keeps herself neat, and is easily mistaken for an adult. Usually sports a school uniform with ornamentation coming mostly in the form of numerous bracelets, as she was doing on her last mortal day. Notes: ay lmao i'll probably edit the hell outta this character later, if I use her. I rushed her to completion for the sake of an example.
...And her successor, whom I like much more.
Name: Ivo Shadrach, he/him. Age: 19. Personality: Ivo's aversion to crowds has occasionally portrayed him as a quiet individual, but he's no less social than anyone- So long as he doesn't have to deal with too many people at once. In this way he can actually end up putting more effort into seeking and maintaining conversation than most, as a chance to chat in an environment he finds comfortable might not come around often. When he feels overwhelmed, he simply vanishes into his own thoughts and keeps doing whatever he thinks is most useful for him to do. When conversing, he is prone to change the subject to something more abstract or unusual suddenly and abruptly, though he tries to avoid speaking over anyone. Ivo laughs little, but smiles very often. It is difficult to say whether he is a friendly person, partially because he treats everyone like a friend, and partially because he seems so disinterested in what people are doing in their relationships and careers, much preferring to ask about their dreams, their emotions, their fantasies and guesses. Interests: Ivo has long wished about overcoming the inherent materialism of his Avernalese upbringing and styling himself into a spiritualist, fanning the flames of a childish belief that there really is something under the bed, that mirrors winked at you when you looked away. The commercialisation of classical monsters held no appeal to him, and Ivo has always sought out entertainment that emphasises the unknowable and the forgotten. Lovecraft's sonnets were his bedtime stories, and old chants and ambient recordings were what he defined as music. Though applying his capacious memory to science was the only way he stood a chance of passing at his public school, Ivo secretly and privately wished that he'd forget everything and discover his own beliefs about the nature of the world, and did poorly in all but mathematics, which he enjoyed for its abstract, almost otherworldly nature. He keeps himself busy with sketches and poetic records of his emotions when he's alone in a new place, neither of which will ever be worth publishing. After many attempts to apply for work in novelty shops that sold dreamcatchers and practiced crystal healing, he eventually found his employment in a factory, hand-crafting gorgeous candles and perfumed soaps. He smokes irregularly with hand-grown tobacco, though what else might be in his cigarettes is hard to say. History: Born to an old and somber family in Avernale, Ivo was raised in the shadow of his much older brother Ezra, who was very alike to himself, almost to the point of being twins. Like Ivo, Ezra did poorly in school but quickly found work, and left the family with barely a trace when he knew he was financially secure. Though difficult at first, both of Ivos parents soon surmounted their loss, knowing that Ezra had left only to seek independence, and not because there had been a lack of love or good parenting between them. A quiet expectation permeated the family that Ivo, too, would leave when he was able and no later. Knowing that Ezra had turned out well even without a successful education, they waited patiently as Ivo's grades collapsed, and did what they could to help him when he started seeking employment. Now that he has a job, they wait, neither impatiently nor regretfully, for him to take control of his own life. Appearance: Unimpressive. Though he's more fit than he looks from long wanders and hours of overtime work, Ivo still looks like a twelve-year-old, with a bulky body and just the faintest touch of pudge still lingering in his face. His hair is short, dark and uncombed. While travelling to work on the day he died, he was suited up in a simple blue factory work jacket and trousers, stained by wax and dyes. Notes: ayy lmao
A dragon rider and dragon for another Flight Rising gig. Tein Flow was designed for comedic filler purposes, with Yan being the duo's depth.
Wanted to make a Worm Animari, but realised that they don't have limbs to put hands on sO I GUESS I'M MAKING A FURSONA INSTEAD SO SUE ME BEHIND THE SCENES… Player: Fuzzberry (yo) WELCOME YOUNG RIDER… Name: Tein Flow. Race: Animari (Lammergeier). Gender: Male. Age: 19. Element: Water. Dragon: Yan. Appearance: A small individual, practically indiscernible in body shape from a short-necked vulture, with a standing height of just over a metre and a wingspan three times that. Tein's wings are not equipped with hands; He instead grapples objects with his feet, whose toes are, unlike an ordinary bird, highly dexterous and long enough to be called fingers. As he does use his feet to stand, he can only effectively use one at a time while grounded, and backs it up with his beak. Tein's wings, back and tail are dark brown streaked with grey, but his neck, legs and body are feathered in yellow and orange, and his head is white. Two black streaks pass over his eyes, which are red-ringed, and end in fluffy tufts around his beak. Basically this li'l guy but with sapien hands for feet. Tein wears little and travels unarmed, though he carries a leather satchel around his torso and tail, and needs to use a lens in order to read. Personality: Tein isn't shy, but never has much to say. Curious enough about other people to waddle over to any budding conversations he overhears an interesting word from, Tein enjoys watching, and will do so until he gets bored. Although this usually doesn't take long, Tein is easily entertained and will freely spend hours of his day arranging pretty rocks into a pile. When cornered into talking, he tends to come off as goofy, either not very smart or just never having gotten the hang of ordinary acquaintance, and communicates with heavy use of body language and charades. It's hard to tell if he ever makes friends, but given how happy he seems anyway, it's hard to worry either. As a Bearded Vulture-like Animari, Tein eats almost exclusively bones, making him an easy traveller to feed, as he can live off the scraps of others. He enjoys dust baths and can sometimes be seen preening to rearrange his feathers, especially when nervous. Tein is capable of hovering motionless in the air for hours and is generally skilled in using his wings, but still does not compare well with dragons in flight speed, agility or carrying capacity. History: Tein's life until now has been privileged and quiet. Born to a tribe of flight-capable Animari who had grown wealthy as the only reliable guides through a geographically significant stretch of canyons and cliffs, sitting at the corner of Water and two other elemental regions and enclosing valuable mines and rivers, the Flow clan ensured that Tein received the best of education as the firstborn of their leaders. Tein was an adequately diligent worker and learner, but some in the clan worried that he did not have the independence and creativity to inspire them as a leader. Some even wished for his younger, smarter, more eager sisters to take over the role of heir, causing notable concern to his elders and tutors. When Tein reacted positively to his divine calling, excited to use what he had been taught outside the canyons, the chieftains blessed and encouraged him to make the journey to High Cliff and allow his eldest sister to take up training in his place, a satisfying solution for the whole clan. THIS IS YOUR NEW SOULMATE… Name: Yan. Gender: Non-binary, they/their/themself. Age: 27 or some equivalent thereof. Probably. Element: ...The same as their rider. Obviously. Rider: That guy up there in the other sheet. Appearance: Personality: Yan takes life with just a faint pinch of cynicism underneath their generally good humour. They get along well with anyone that can consistently keep up high spirits through Yan's laxly casual mockery and lack of laughter, though they smile often; Fortunately, this is pretty much everyone. Often seen skiving responsibilities with a book, Yan is usually immune to acting responsively, and will generally not change their mood when the situation grows tense, sad, or joyful. Yan is not entirely one-sided, as they have a streak of impatience that sometimes sees day, and derives true joy from being around someone they connect with. History: Born impatient and frustrated, Yan as a child wanted nothing more than to skip to the end of everything. Knowing that they were destined to one day partner up with a rider and embark on some kind of sacred mission, Yan restlessly sought to know who it would be they would bond with and how they would proceed. Finding this desire consistently flouted by mystery, Yan slowly grew into a kind of merry apathy with the matter that permeated the rest of their personality as well, and now that the day draws near, Yan finds that they have no emotional weight riding on the mystery, and that they simply do as they must because that is what they have been raised and trained to do.
