When Eli was dressed and ready to leave, Vera was still curled up in bed with no signs of waking any time soon. A smirk found its way onto her face, and she left a note for the girl to tell her where she'd gone. Of course, as soon as Eli was out the door the smile had gone from her face, and her mouth had vanished behind her scarf. It was time to work. She was early to the briefing room, and listened intently to the list of possible contracts. To be honest, choosing contracts hadn't been something she had expected to do. It made the most sense to her that they would take whatever came their way, but dividing and conquering seemed a good enough strategy. Eli couldn't help the bit of pride that swelled within her when the captain referred to her by her NC's designation. It would be lie to say she didn't hope to achieve some sort of name for herself here, and if she became synonymous with her weapon, then so be it, there were far worse things to be known by. While she agreed with the captain on her own assignment, Eli was doubtful of Percy. Jingo had proved to be at least competent with the smaller size of his NC, but Percy did not seem to be as far disciplined. It wasn't so much out of worry for his life, but if they lost a pilot, it would set Smith's Rest incredibly back. Still, she held her tongue. It was not her place to question the captain's faith, if the man could hold his own, then he would live. "I have no issue remaining on the Volkov contract," she said, glancing to Madison and Verona. They had both performed well, though the other girl worried her a bit. Not that she doubted Madison's skills, but dear god she dreaded sharing comms with her again. When her piece was said, she stepped back and waited for the input of the others.
