⋗ ᴘᴇʀsᴏɴᴀʟɪᴛʏ﹕ Amaya, the dignified lady hidden away behind the façade of her alias. In order to receive the respect she feels she deserves, Amaya cross-dresses as a man with Daichi being the only living human who knows her true identity. Although she’d really rather much not, she had no problem embracing her more masculine side –she’s always been a bit of a tomboy anyways- and occasionally turns to her brother when unsure of how to react in certain situations. Funnily enough, Amaya has no experience with men romantically-wise and becomes very awkward and shy when the flirting starts. Besides her so called taboo lifestyle, there’s a lot more to Amaya that most don’t understand about her. While both siblings are searching for ‘a certain someone’, each has their own distinct method of pursuing this goal. Amaya is determined, stubborn, and quite feisty when it comes to getting what she wants and often gets uncharacteristically aggressive when she gets frustrated. However, unlike her brother, she really dislikes killing and if the need arises, makes sure to do so swiftly and as painlessly as possibly. That’s why she’s known as Kōen (translates into ‘auspice’), the merciful one of the two brothers.

⋗ ʜɪsᴛᴏʀʏ﹕ Becoming a samurai was never easy for her -emotionally, mentally, and physically. Ever since her big brother started training, Amaya always wanted to be a one. She was constantly teased for wanting to do something so boyish but Amaya wasn’t so easily deterred. It required a lot of begging and favors but after winning her brother’s favor, managed to start training under him in secret before finally being accepted as a pupil by Daichi’s teacher. Amaya decided to start putting her skills to use and wanted to work alongside the Shinsengumi. However, considering the androcentric country she lived in, she was never accepted. Amaya started presenting herself as a man then -deepening her voice, changing her hairstyle and demeanor, as well as dressing in male garments. Shortly afterwards following a series of unfortunate incidents, she and Daichi set out on their ongoing journey, searching themselves a reputation and a bounty on their heads.

⋗ ᴡᴇᴀᴘᴏɴ﹙s﹚﹕ A katana, carried in the traditional manner at her hip, and a hamidashi hidden in a pouch on her lower back.
⋗ sᴋɪʟʟs﹕ She’s only been taught how to wield the katana and is very good at it, so her hamidashi is stashed away for emergencies only. Her strength lies not in power nor speed, but in her high energy levels and seemingly undying stamina.

⋗ ᴏᴛʜᴇʀ﹕ She owns a black tomcat named [url=http://kawaiipeople.files.wordpress.com/2012/08/tumblr_m6gfd35kss1r2u8d8o1_500.jpg?w=640]Chirin[/url]. Though the feline isn’t necessarily special he’s useful for delivering messages.

⋗ ᴀᴘᴘᴇᴀʀᴀɴᴄᴇ﹕ With a sturdy body and only minor feminine curves, it’s not too hard to see why she’s able to pass as the opposite gender so easily. She’s small but hardy with fair skin, dark hair, and glowing blood-red eyes and occasionally shine magenta if the lighting’s right. To aid with her disguise, Amaya has cut her hair into messy layers and occasionally wears a mask to cover the lower half of her face. The following is how she’d look without all her alterations.
