Real Name: Drew Chapman (Real name)/Scarlett Kennedy (Fake name)
Superhero Name: Pendragon
Age: 28
Appearance: Drew is rather tall and slightly muscular woman, standing at 5'11. Her hair is platinum blonde and thin, and is cut into a short, jagged hairstyle. She has light skin and an oval shaped face. Her most distinct feature are her round, amber coloured eyes. She's often seen wearing red lipstick when not wearing her mask.
Whilst out in public, Drew normally wears a long, loose white top and grey jeans, usually accompanied by a pair of brown boots. When Drew is in action, she wears a black trench coat that reaches her knees, a grey top and boots and a black mask that covers her mouth.
- Power: Sword Manipulation: Drew is able to create, shape and manipulate swords. She is capable of producing over a thousand swords at once, which she then uses to throw at her opponents. They often appear as traditional "knightly swords", but on occasion, she is able to create unique swords with different abilities. This, however, takes up a lot of Drew's energy, and so is only used as a last resort.
- Enhanced Swordsmanship: Another one of Drew's powers is her enhanced sword wielding abilities. Drew is able to wield her sword with incredible speed, power and skill. She is able to stop and deflect bullets and even slice through solid material if the sword she has created is strong enough to do so.
- Excalibur (Linked with Sword Manipulation): Excalibur is one of Drew's most powerful sword creations. This is Drew's last resort, as it takes a toll on the user greatly. Using her sword manipulation to create this sword, she uses up a majority of her energy to form Excalibur. This particular sword releases light from the tip of the blade once it's swung, destroying everything in its path. When swung, a large beam of light is emitted, and is able to be seen from an entire mile away, according to Drew herself. The sword's power even gave Drew the name 'Pendragon' by her peers.
Personality: Level-headed and sensible, Drew is a calm and collected individual, and is usually the one to settle things down in certain situations. She's often reserved and a bit quiet, but when in a fit of rage she becomes almost unstoppable, lashing out at those who angered her and willing to kill anyone who gets in her way. Although quite secretive, Drew is a very determined and ambitious woman, willing to do anything to make the world a better place. She carries out her duties accordingly and efficiently, and will get ticked off if someone tries to stop her. Because of her past and the crimes she had committed as a former villain, Drew finds it hard to open up to other members of her group. Even so, she tries not to be too silent and antisocial, as she wants to make friends with others instead of being the lone wolf without any companions.
Bio: Drew was raised in London, England, and was the first and only child to Jocelyn Chapman. Her father had left the two when she was still young, so her mother had to raise her by herself. She wasn't the wealthiest person in the world, having to live in an area dominated by gangs inside a rundown high rise apartment. Even so, Jocelyn tried to raise her child the best she could, doing everything in her power to make Drew's life better in the future.
Although her life wasn't as pleasant at home, Drew was a good and able student. She had an average amount of friends and received good grades in school. She took a liking to reading and writing, and was given an old book that her mother used to read on her tenth birthday. Taking inspiration from 'The Sword in the Stone', Drew continued to hone her writing skills to become an author when she grew up.
A few months after she had turned ten, everything started to go downhill. Drew's mother had lost her job, but kept it a secret from her daughter in fear that she would sadden her. Jocelyn began to stress out, often laying in her bed as she drowned in her own depression. She grew ill, but, still being the naïve little girl she was, Drew disregarded the fact that her mother might be sickly, passing it off as a one time thing. As her sickness grew worse, Jocelyn decided that she wasn't healthy enough to raise Drew any longer. With the money she had left in the bank, Jocelyn took Drew and flew her to New Horn city, in hopes of finding Drew's father so that he could raise the little girl instead.
Once they finally arrived at the father's house, Jocelyn said her last goodbyes. Not knowing where her mother going was off to, Drew asked when she would be back. Jocelyn replied,
"Soon, sweety. Wait for me to come back, okay?"After that day, she never did.
Drew's life and personality began to change from that point onwards. Unbeknownst to her mother, Drew's father was a drinker, consuming up to a bottle a day on a daily basis. This resulted in one-sided arguments and many bruises, as Drew's father would often take his drunken anger out on her. Scared to no end, Drew would shut herself away in her room every time she came back from school, frightened of invoking her father's wrath. She felt betrayed and lonely. Why wasn't her mother back yet? She had promised that she would be back soon, but it many months had passed since then. Drew came to the conclusion that Jocelyn had left her alone for good, alone in this dark atmosphere and poor excise for a father. The girl grew silent and antisocial, withdrawing herself from other kids.
Years a passed, and Drew entered high school. Of course, she wasn't as social as she was when she was younger, so she didn't make too many friends at school. She was gossiped about quite frequently, with her pale skin and bruises lining her legs and the such when she got changed for P.E. Drew was even bullied at some point because of her unfortunate vulnerability to it. Although she tried to pull herself through her messy high school life, things just weren't going well for her and her father at all.
Once she had entered college, the stress and sadness started to pile on even more. Because Drew lived quite near to her college, her father didn't see the point of staying dorms there. She worked at home in the darkness of her room, while her father would do the usual drinking and watching television. However, it was at the age of twenty that she had discovered her powers.
One day she decided to get some fresh air in the park, reading her beloved Sword in the Stone book during the evening hours. When she came back, an angry father greeted her, yelling his lungs out as soon as he entered. He asked where she had been, but even when she tried to explain where she was, her father cut her off, hitting her across the face. The two argued for thirty minutes, throwing fists and curses at each other. Drew didn't care what he was about to do next. All she wanted to do now was prove a point.
Drew's father had been driven to his limits. He knocked Drew against the wall and started to hit her, over and over again until she started to bleed. He called her a sorry excuse for a being, mocking and teasing her and her mother right in front of her. Drew was beginning to feel exhausted, and her eyes were beginning to slip shut. She was going to die if she didn't do something now. And at the hands of her own father. Why did this have to happen now? Why did she have to go like this? Why did the world have to be so cruel? She began to beg for her mother inside her head, pleading for her to come back.
And, at that moment, she snapped.
Suddenly, in a fit of silent rage, Drew awakened her powers, forming a circle of swords above where he body lay and shot them towards her father. She managed to successfully kill him, leaving them to bleed to death on the carpet. Fascinated by this new discovery, she stabbed her father over and over again, not giving a damn about the mess she was causing.
"Scum is all you are. You're just like everyone else. Leaving behind what you once loved for your own irrational desires. Disgusting. This whole world is full of scum… but why? Why must I be put in the same category as them? You are not human! All of you are just pigs that disguise yourself in human clothing, always trying to fulfil your wishes by hurting other people in the process. Mum… Dad… all of you. All of you are dirty, wretched scum. I will rid this world of people like you. I've had enough of being betrayed and left alone! Now die, you wretched scum!"After that, Drew was never seen again. Cutting her hair and giving herself a completely new name, Drew decided to take care of herself, renting a small apartment somewhere in the city. After getting settled in her new home, she started to cause harm to other people. She became villainous and ruthless, killing innocent people left and right. Drew made it her goal to rid the world of 'scum', commiting various crimes that caused the deaths of many people in the process. She continued this for over seven years, becoming a renown criminal throughout the city.
At the age of twenty-seven, Drew was about to commit her biggest mass murder yet: destroying a tall glass office building just around the corner.
It was raining heavily that day. Even so, Drew continued in with the operation. Standing on top of a smaller building, Drew aimed over a thousand swords at each of the floors, shooting them towards it. Before she could send more out, Drew was disrupted by a shock of lightning, making her jump back. It was one of those superheroes she had heard so much about. Drew retreated away from the lightning-controlling man, set on finishing what she had started.
Soon enough, the entire road was closed off, and the remaining workers had been evacuated from the building. Drew ran into here, checking if any people were left. She was then confronted by Electrik, who tried to persuade her to stop. Ignoring him completely, Drew battled with him, throwing swords as he shot at her with lightning. Eventually, the two grew tired, now outside of the building and fighting on the closed off road. Enraged, Drew attacked him with a thousand swords, destroying the building's first five floors. The man then tried to convince her again, hitting at her with all his might. Even as she retaliated back, the man continued to persist, telling her that what she was doing was wrong. He said that killing people isn't the way to make the world a better place, but instead protecting people in hopes of creating a safer environment. Exhausted, the woman dropped to her knees, breathing heavily. She then thought for a moment. Was what he said really true? Had she been wrong all this time? All these questions made her think. Then, she came to a conclusion. She had been wrong all this time. Even though she wanted to make the world a better place, she was just doing it the wrong way. Drew recalled the amount of people she had killed, sobbing with regret as she reviewed her past crimes. She said that all she wanted was to rid the world of scum… but following that she said she was scum herself.
"All I wanted was to live in a better place… So I eliminated the evil to make room for the good. I thought I was saving the world… but I was really just saving myself. Saving myself from all the stress and the betrayal and the loneliness. I've killed so many people… How can I possibly be forgiven? I'm not the world's saviour. I'm just as bad as all those other people!"The man approached her, holding out his hand. He said,
"Yes, what you have done was cruel… but not all of it is your fault. Your head became shrouded in darkness and evil so that you had no idea what crimes you were committing. You thought you were doing something bad when in reality you were doing something incredibly evil. But, there's always room for good as well. You just have to know where to look."Hesitant for a moment, Drew stared up at him. Still crying, Drew took his hand, pulling herself up. It was then when the building started to crumble. The entire structure started to fall on top of them, the glass beginning to break. Running towards it, Drew held her hands out, summoning the most swords she had ever created during her lifetime. Smiling, she said to the man,
"You should probably close your eyes for this one. The glass might get in your eyes."As the clouds began to separate, Drew sent her countless amount of swords flying, shattering the glass into the tiniest pieces she could. The microscopic pieces of glasses shone in the sunlight, falling around Drew like glitter. As Elektrik watched from a safe distance, Drew kept her eyes closed, not wanting to get any glass in her eyes. Once the shining glass had fallen, she went up to Elektrik and asked him something.
"You said there's also room for good as well, and you just need to know where to look. So, Mr. Elektrik… is there any more space in this so called superhero team of yours?"
