Had she been a character in the cartoons she knew and loved, the hat-wearing teenaged girl known only to her compatriots by the moniker of "Hat-chan" would likely have manifested a floating eroteme beside her head in response to the reply of Karasawa Shinjiro. The words she understood, but the manner in which they were strung into the sentence (why were there guts on a boat?) and how it all related to that music game Youko owned was utterly beyond her comprehension. Hence the tilted head and expression of confusion.

She had no idea what was being said.

That meant it was probably a reference.
