The Swarm started ascending to its maximum flight-altitude again, and Joe switched the missiles to dumb-launch mode. Directly above most non-directional radar units is a blind-spot, expanding in the shape of a cone the further away from the radar one is. Joe planned to abuse that very blind spot, if it was present, by circling directly above the enemy as high as he could, while dropping his missiles onto them. Even if the blind spot was covered by a skyward radar, he deemed himself far enough away to be able to dodge most incoming fire, while gravity helped his missiles save fuel without loosing range or accuracy. After the distance between the spot on the ground directly below him and the enemy tank was 3 quarters of the range of his missiles, Joe released a volley of them. As they were in dumb-launch mode, their engines didn't ignite, and they fell straight down. A few hundred meters before they impacted the ground he ordered the missiles to ignite their engines, while pointing the aim-laser at the nearest enemy tank. To onlookers on the ground, it looked as if missiles were appearing out of thin air, although a sensitive enough radar would likely have been able to detect the falling missiles beforehand, although likely misclassifying them as either bombs or debris.
