"Aw Kee come on!' Scout called after her in exasperation. "You know I was kidding! Damnit she's gotta throw a fit every time I say something that just maybe might be taken offensive or negative or disagreeing with her point of view." He grumbled, turning all the way towards the bar now and returning Roy's nod. With nimble fingers he snatched up Barrett's glass and his own, filled them both with the bottle he had 'borrowed', and took two shots in quick succession.

Barrett's eyebrows went up at that in surprise. "Really? Huh. I'd like to say you're the first I've met but you are certainly the nicest. And most clean looking might I add," He cleared his throat, hoping that hadn't come across as insulting.

Keenan went around down the hallway, looking at all the nameless doors. She heard footsteps coming up the stairs. She glanced back to see the new guy that just arrived. He seemed...strange. but she shrugged off the feeling and kept walking.
All of a sudden she felt herself grabbed from behind and her mouth muffled, and she was dragged into a room and the door slammed shut behind them.

Lucien started from his table without a word to Charlie after hearing the slam, and he bolted for the stairs. In his hand was a dagger.

Scout slipped bast Lucien and up the stairs, clapping a hand to his thigh holster and skidding to a stop in the hallway. "...Keenan?". He called, freeing his pistol from the holster and slowly pulling it out.
He didn't always draw a gun when looking for her, but the atmosphere in the hallway just felt wrong and after years in the desert he had learned to trust his instincts.

" ah, they should have it covered.". Barrett mused as the two ran off upstairs. "If its bad they'll shout for us."

"Don't tell me how to do my job thank you" Scowled Scout, before ramming the door with his shoulder and stepping into the room with his gun raised and pointed to the stranger. "Hey, back up and hands off now" He said in his most commander voice, which was louder and stronger then his usual tone.

Lucien didn't even hesitate. He pushed Keenan aside and plunged his knife directly into the man's throat.

Keenan squeaked in surprise and fear as the man crumpled to rhe floor, drowning in his own blood.

Keenan buried her face in Scout's shirt while also keeping one eye on the tall dark man, who casually began to clean his blade.

"My name is Lucien. I am hired by the public populace to eliminate certain people from existence. I have no idea what this man's interest was in your friend here. He was simply my target. It was just fortunate that he happened to give me a reason to come after him."

"You think it was a good thing that he attacked me?!" Keenan demanded incredulously.

"Calm down. You weren't injured." Lucien replied boredly, now sheathing his knife.

"So you're a bounty hunter." Scout said flatly, his gun not moving. "Right. Okay then what did he do." He nodded to the dead man, still keeping his hand up and a reassuring but light hold on Kee. It was still a bit odd for him, being tentative and caring around her. He still viewed her as an Outtie first, not his girlfriend, which could make things awkward at times.

"Huh." Scout said with a shrug, before lowering his gun and holstering it. "Thanks then. Though I didn't need your help." He said with a sniff, before turning to look Keenan over and make sure she actually was unharmed. He held her at arms length, turning her this way and that as he did so.

Roy had left his glass up the bar and was up the stairs only a few paces behind the others, hands gripping his rifle tightly. However when the two others entered the room he stayed in the hall, to many people in one fight could make things worse. Besides, if the man had someone working with him he wanted to keep an eye out for him.

Charlie sighed when Lucien abandoned her. "I suppose he has to save the girl." She grumbled. Standing and turning quickly she strutted to the bar. "What do you have to eat?" She asked one of the twins.

Laura jumped as the dramatic scene happened quickly. "Alright." She said nervously to Barrett and shifted closer to him.

"This stuff is pretty standard when Handie's of a mood. I wouldn't get to worked up about it." Barrett said to reassure Laura, flashing her a quick smile before casting a look over his shoulder at the stairs. Well no screaming or gun fire, and he couldn't hear the torrent of threats that usually followed after Scout whenever he got hurt, so he figured things were fine.

Keenan let him look her over without much compkaint. She was too shocked by what had happened to really notice.

Lucien said nothing more after that, then moved past them and back down the stairs.

The twins blinked at her and looked at each other. Then back at her. "Handie said 'everything'. One of them replied.
