I was more or less going for what they would do when they escaped the prison, as in the faction would still be around after the escape.

@Everyone
I think everyone should realize that the factions aren't going to stay intact once the prison break occurs. Edmund is going to warp as many people as he can out but you have to remember that is going to be all Player Characters and some choice NPCs. Anyone else who survives will have to be smart and clever and be able to brave the environment surrounding the Center without being caught or killed This means that the largest population of any faction coming out the Center is going to be about five at most, less more likely. There's not going to be enough left of Cross or SIGN or SOUL or the Amazons to keep a faction intact and while I would expect that the faction members that escape might try to keep there faction alive at the beginning if the group as a whole wants to survive it would have band together, not split apart. Weird Tales, once the prison break occurs Sam is welcome to try and keep Cross going but since currently its members consist of you and maybe Manuel you're going to have a very lonely RP separated from the group.
As for progressive I mean non left-wing politics, Sam is described as a traditionalist and his faction wouldn't allow liberals or communists in their ranks, that's what he is getting at.
RIP Harper... Sorry I'm Canadian.
Here is Jason Reed and the faction SIGN
Name: Jason Reed Age: 19 Gender: Male Nationality: America, LA Prison Faction: Leader of SIGN Ability: Data manipulation, Datakinesis. Jason often refers to his ability as "Malicious Code" due to its basic abilities. It can give a user access to any electrical device through touch. This includes keypads, computers, all forms of data etc. By accessing his phone, he is also able to induce something called "Malicious Form" which allows him to change his own body through code. This also grants him the ability to access machines from distance; though without this he is can only manipulate data through touch. Because of his ability he can touch something with data and change the code however he wishes. The format, the lines, even its purpose can be changed through his touch. Of course this only works if he can understand how it works, so complicated machinery like the ability dampening field in the prison is beyond his ability. Biography: Jason was born into a poor family somewhere in LA. His family had trouble living, and Jason found an aptitude in coding. He began creating different products and selling them to companies so that his family could live better. As he continued, his mother passed away from illness and his father moved away, leaving him alone in the apartment at the age of 11. By the age of 13 he was living sufficiently on his own, eating every other day and going to school like an ordinary boy. He became more and more secluded, coding more and more and becoming a generally sheltered guy. He would only leave the apartment for shopping and school, which he only attended 3 days a week. Eventually his grades began to drop and he began showing signs of mental illness. He couldn't afford a psychiatrist and no one could know he lived alone for fear of being sent into foster care. His projects became used in both NASA and the CIA, where he was paid decently but not enough to live completely. He became well known in underground hacker groups under the alias "Dracula", a reference to his key hacking method - draining the target of all data before wiping and discarding it. One day he was contacted by a group called REEL, an underground hacking society he had made contact with before and made dealings with. They requested for him to crack a supercomputers security, which was clearly beyond his skill. Despite his talent, he was only a boy at the age of 15 and he could only take so much. They sent him pictures of his home, becoming abusive and constantly sending threats to him. Jack kept trying, but just couldn't crack the security on it despite using his most powerful skills. Somehow, he managed to do it, but it definitely wasn’t natural. Police arrived at his door shortly after hearing from REEL, but by then Jason had already downloaded the entire supercomputer onto his phone. He spent 3 years travelling between owners and has been located at the Center for over a year. With some contacts from the underground he managed to get his phone into the Center, and with it he has been able to weaken the effect the ability dampening field has on his abilities. Appearance:

Other: Derp. Oh and he has a phone that is linked to a supercomputer. And he can partially negate the ability dampening field with it, at least to the point where he can use the basic parts of his ability.

Alright, firstly Malicious Form: Jason is not a computer program, despite his ability to interface with computers him being able to rewrite his own biology only has a very flimsy level of logic behind it, the fact that he would be able to alter himself to be resistant to the barriers is also rather ludicrous. I believe I explained this but the ability dampeners flood the Center with a harmless type of background radiation that has an adverse effect on metahumans by dampening the functionality of there abilities (fringe science I know) this means that if he altered himself to be unaffected by the barriers he'd effectively be altering the meta gene out of himself. Which I think would defeat the purpose. I have trouble believing that an under eleven year old, no matter how brilliant would have a decent enough understanding of his family situation and the commercial world at large to create products and market them to companies. I would have an even harder time believing that an eleven year old could function without parents. I lived in a troubled home, I know you grow up fast but you don't become self sufficient over night. I can't believe that at eleven being able to function on his own he was also able to keep it a secret. A mother dying of illness would be a matter of public record and while I can see the dad moving away without notice it's not like an apartment is a segregated environment. You'd have your landlord checking up on the place, doing repairs, collecting the rent money and since Jason isn't old enough to have a bank account (and by your bio doesn't have his powers yet) he would have to be paying his rent in cash which I can't see a landlord accepting from a eleven year old boy without asking questions. The fact that he could sell programs to the CIA and NASA and still be poor is quite frankly ridiculous. The CIA pays well. Like extremely well, if they don't there programmers get desperate and start selling the CIAs programs to rival governments. NASA is likewise not the only space program in existence and they need to keep things confidential so they pay there contractors well to ensure that they don't seek under the table deals with others. Also the CIA and NASA don't do business over the phone. They would be aware of the fact that Jason is like thirteen and if his programs are irrelevant enough (only explanation I can see) that the CIA isn't paying him enough to live off of then they are also able to be written by a lot of different programmers and the CIA now not needing Jason would report his situation to social services. It is completely illogical for REEL to try to push Jason into cracking this super computer. If they're looking outside of there own group for a hacker to crack it, that means that within there network of hackers there is no one that can do it, or alternatively they don't want to risk getting caught. If this is so obviously outside of Jason's skill range they would go to someone better. Since everything is anonymous in those circles there is no reason to lie about or hide your skill level so they would have a starting point for looking for a more experienced hacker. It would also not make sense for them to go through the effort of obtaining photos of his home to threaten him with if up until this point he hasn't shown that he has the skill to crack this computer. I don't know exactly what kind of super computer this was but for the most part systems with the kind of power and encryption you seem to be talking about are rarely networked or if they are it is for short periods of time. This is a precaution to prevent hacking. Also when these computers are networked they have complex security that aside from protecting the data also monitors when someone tries to access it and trace the access back to it's source. An alarm would go off the first instant someone tried to hack it. If he made so many failed attempt to hack the computer the police would have been at his door a long time ago. There is no way REEL would be able to recognize that he had used Datakinesis to crack the computer and thus no reason to call the cops. To any other computer user it would simply appear as an increasingly sophisticated and fast moving hacking software. What the hell kind of phone does he have the can hold the entire operating system of a super computer never mind its library. My phone can only hold half the music from my iTunes. Those super computers are usually an entire room's worth of hard drives, and processors. Your phone has one of each. With his data related ability his phone would be the first thing confiscated in the center. The computers present in the Auction Room are segregated from the system and only have enough access to certain other computers to impress prospective buyers, they wouldn't want a tech meta getting into one of the zones where powers work with a device that is networked. Finally and this is more my fault for not explaining well (and if anyone else has made this mistake I apologize) but metas don't normally end up with more than one owner. Having a meta isn't like a trophy for rich people, they're bought by black market arms dealers and foreign revolutionaries, hackers and scientists. They have a variety of fates but usually the people who buy them have a job in mind for them, if they do it they get to live, if they won't do it or can't they are either sold back to the Center at a loss or killed. If a meta is sold back to the Center they are considered a bad investment. While the Center still made a profit they don't want to get a reputation for selling defective metas so the bad investment will usually end up being dissected. If you're in the Center you've either been captured by Center agents or sold to them by a bounty hunter. You won't have had an owner previously.

Faction Name: SIGN Leader: Jason Reed
Power: Data Manipulation Appearance:

Purpose: When Jason came to the Center, technology type metas were being bullied and extorted on a regular basis more than the other metas. Jason decided that he wouldn't take that kind of abuse to his race of metas, so he created the faction SIGN so that he may protect other metas that share his kind of ability. Age: About a year and a few months. History: After Jason was transferred into the Center, he was forced to face the harsh reality of his ability. It may have been powerful, but there were always others that would pick on it and him because of it. He realized that everyone would do this, but especially members of a certain faction. He asked the leader it was by his orders, but he said no. That was when he realized that everyone had it out for him. Eventually, he could take no more and he unified the tech metas under the banner of SIGN. Since then there have been many fights between SIGN and their rival faction SOUL, run by Jackson Stone.
Leadership: Backdoor: the lowest ranked meta you can be. Firewall: a foot soldier. They can command the Backdoors but are still one of the lowest ranked. Trojan: these soldiers command the Firewalls and Backdoors and have shown they are superior in combat but also have non power abilities to use. Bot: the leaders of the Trojans. They are well respected and are generally given a bit of leeway from guards. Shutdown: these are specially chosen by the Code;End and are in control of the other members entirely. They are given more leeway by guards and most prisoners won't challenge them to anything because of their high rank. There are only 3 as of current. Code;End: Code;end is the leader of the faction, who is currently Jason. He has full command of the faction and all members. Guards tend to ignore his actions entirely but tend to do what he asks up to a point. This is also because his ability allows him to still use his ability in the dampening field. This is especially useful since he managed to get his phone into the prison, which is linked to the supercomputer Merlin. *Note: these ranks are the technical names, but the people in those ranks are not called them. This is just a way of organisation.
Selection: the only determining factor is what their ability is. Those with electrical, machine, data or other similar kinds of abilities are welcome into SIGN. those without are rejected, but given a verified seat in case the faction ever becomes open. Initiation: the initiation is just a basic demonstration of their abilities so they can be placed in the hierarchy. This also includes their non power skills. Size: since there are few metas with the type of ability accepted, there are currently 57 members with 64 other metas with verified seats. Assets: being relatively well respected, SIGN members of Bot rank and above are given leeway by guards to a certain degree. Nothing like SOUL may do, but guards may look the other way for some crimes as well as possibly doing certain favours in exchange for bribes.

Firstly, why is it that everyone has it out for tech users? It sort of seemed like it was just lumped in there like "Oh yeah and no one likes these guys especially that faction SOUL" with no apparent cause or reason behind it. I mean tech users would have natural disadvantage in the ring without tech to manipulate but I would think that would make people want to keep them around so they could score easy wins and privileges. If the faction was created to help tech users survive in the Center why would they hold seats for non tech users? For that matter why would non tech users apply knowing that the faction was formed around the concept of protecting tech users? This is more a suggestion than a note but since you seem so fond of the four letter all in caps names (which I would assume stand for something) I would suggest changing the name of this faction to STEM. It stands for Science Technology Engineering Mathematics. It's a term used in scientific communities.
I'm just going to put this here. See what happens.
Name: Nariv Arya Age: 16 Gender: Male Nationality: American Prison Faction: Factionless - The Messenger Ability: Vocal Replication - Nariv is able to replicate any sound or voices with complete and udder accuracy. However, this means that he can't copy a person's voice, merely mimic the exact phrase that they had heard, or remix several sources of noise to make a complete sentence. Still, it his still his voice, it can still get tired if he uses it too much and he can't replicate sounds that he can't hear. This means pitches high or low enough that the human ear can't detect. Also, the more inhumane the sound, the more strain on the voice. Biography: Nariv was born into a fair life. His parents loved him, they lived inside of a fairly decent neighborhood with his parents having an above average salary. He has two brothers, both older and out of the house, and the one thing you would realize is that he was born mute. That affected his life quite drastically as he couldn't speak at all. School was quite strange, he had to be somewhere special, where teachers knew ASL and students with similar disadvantages as himself. It didn't affect him too hard, he still had friends that could speak, he acted no different than he would have if he spoke, although people understanding all the time was a problem for the rest of his life. It was only until he was 15 when he discovered that there was another abnormality inside of him as well. He was in a car, a family vacation with his parents and brothers. The radio was blasted to the max, playing catchy song after catchy song with everyone singing along. Nariv didn't mind at all, he was mouthing the lyrics as well, joining the fun with his family. Everything was fairly normal, everyone was having fun and all when the parents went to refuel the car. The brothers didn't mind this, they continued to sing with horrible voices until they shut off the car, with the radio as well. However, the song didn't stop. They all looked towards Nariv, the chorus of the song being sung out by the little brother. It was quite a strange sight, especially when the artist was a woman. So, everyone freaked out, including Nariv when he realized what was happening. So, fast forward to a year. The family was all weirded out by this ability. However, they still loved the person that had the power, he was the little brother after all. It took some adjusting to his new life as well, he still went to his special school, but he kept on practicing on videos on the Internet. The sound of explosions, gun fire, and famous movie quotes coming out of his mouth! It was amazing to him, and he occasionally did funny things with voice like whispering two cymbals crashing together into someone's ear. It was a riot. Well, until he got kidnapped to be sold as a slave, that part kind of sucked. Personality: Nariv is mainly just a normal boy. He tries to be friendly to others, to strangers, he shows a rather polite and nice side of himself. However, the more you get to know him and befriend him, the more you start to see his true side. He is still friendly and all, but he starts to be more of a goof with a slight dick-ish attitude. He stays silent when he is supposed to, he knows when to intervene, and especially knows when to run. He is a fairly normal boy living inside of a world that isn't normal. Though, this means that he isn't used to all of the craziness that will ensue later in his life. Appearance:

Other: He is just too darn weak to join any factions, and he had no will to start a fight due to the problem that he has no idea how to fight. Voice Replication doesn't help in fights either, so, Nariv merely has to use his wit to survive.

I do really like the idea and I would assume from his title "The Messenger" that he's some sort of well messenger for everyone in the prison. Since his ability... well I don't know how to say it without everyone else claiming that there ability falls under the same category but since his ability is almost a part of him as a physical entity (not saying that very well, hope you understand what I mean) I think I could have it so the ability dampeners don't work in quite the same manor on it so he could serve as the Messenger for the prisoners by mimicking the messages of different people and bringing them to others. And in that way since he serves as a neutral party between all the factions he can stay factionless and stay safe. That being said with a cast this size I can't let you have a second character. If I let you have one then I will be required to let everyone else have a second and while I know not everyone would want that if enough did the RP would get mighty crowded especially since it is still open for new participants. That being said I don't see any reason why this character should go to waste so I propose two options. Either you can have this character and abandon your other one (not the most desirable), or you can turn this guy over to me to be used as an NPC. Maybe later in the game once things settle down or we lose membership I'll allow secondary characters but for the moment one character each.
Oh, and Clovis will be joining SOUL.
What happened to that faction you were designing? Something based around strength abilities?
[@Prince of Seraphs] I edited my form to change the abilities and such. Please let me know if this works better for the story.
Name: Violet Ray Age: 23 Gender: Female Nationality: North America / Sioux Tribal Native Decent Prison Faction: Undetermined Ability: http://powerlisting.wikia.com/wiki/Technological_Invisibility Violet is invisible to technological means of surveillance and communication. Security systems, motion sensors, and laser trips are all useless in detecting her. She puts off not heat signal and cannot be picked up by thermal camera's or heat seeking devices. She also cannot be photographed or video taped, this is something sometimes referred to as the vampire effect. The down side to this ability is that she is also not able to use any form of advanced technologies such as touch screens, video communication, fingerprinting, etc. She is not able to communicate via cell phone or radio wave. Her interactions have to be personal to varying degrees. Biography: Ray grew up in the foster care system in downtown Chicago. Here she was taken in at the age of 12 by a typical American family consisting of a mom, a dad, three biological children and 7 adoptive children. However, soon after she was adopted, she began to start noticing strange occurrences happening while she would go out with the family. Her adoptive family would take a family trip to Disneyland every year. It was her first time on the trip and more importantly, her first time on a plane. Violet remained excited as they got in line for the security check. Her bags were placed in the machine and she was asked to walk through the x-ray machine and metal detector. The officer asked her to step to the side so they could use the wand on her. The machine detected nothing and they sent her on her way, stating that the x-ray machine must have a 'bug' and was not picking up her image. She brushed it off and thought nothing more of it until more strange occurrences started happening. Every year during the trip through the airport the same thing would happen but only to her. So she received her first cell phone at the age of 16, but not matter what she did, she could never get anyone to hear her through the phone. Similar instances like these happened until she reached 18 and she was now on her own. Soon her awareness of her abilities grew stronger as she tested every theory she had about what was happening to her. She would then start to learn how to use this power. Personality: Violet is a free spirit. She is reserved and keeps to herself most of the time. Because of her tribes reverence towards her, she is used to being a leader. She can be vindictive if double crossed but tends to make close bonds that keep situations like that from occurring often. With a "take not shit" attitude, violet tends to keep people on their toes and tends to have a taste for power. Appearance: Other:

I like it and if I'm being honest it's nice to see someone enter a power that is not inherently destructive or combative. Kudos. Accepted. Now you can post it to the character tab. @Everyone I do apologize if I'm coming off rather harsh, I'm just trying to be honest. If you feel I've judged your work with very little... tact then you're probably right. I'm not exactly a tactful guy and if at any point I say something that hurts you personally I do apologize and feel free to point it out. I think all of your are very good writers, whatever problems I might have with individual pieces of work or ideas you might come up with I do respect you as a fellow writer.
