[@mattmanganon] Actually the Bio inhibitor chips were used. [url=http://starwars.wikia.com/wiki/Inhibitor_chip]Article here.[/url] It became the Canon through the Clone wars and Rebel shows. The only other official canon sources now outside of the movies.

As for the war I agree however I could see it dragging on that long with both sides possibly having found new revenue sources to fund the war. As the Trade Federation and Techo Union would no longer have anyone to help cover up their double dealings and their assets on Republic planets seized by the Republic to find the war.
