Speaking of waits, does it usually take this long for replies? I mean, I understand once our characters group well have plenty of stuff to go off of, but the waiting game is a bit oppresive.

Maybe if after every 5 player posta, the GM did a post for those people. That way the ball could be kept Rolling for all and its not utterly oppresive for the GM. He can write in chunks than try to make a massive post for 15 people.

Yes, I can read your past conversations. We all can. And considering you've only just joined, I'm looking for one of the more veteran players here to answer my question.

Y'know. Someone who has actually experience writing with our GM.

@Dawnscroll: As lydyn said, our GM has limited availability on weekends, but Transience tends to be online for quite a bit of the day on weekdays. Been here since page 1, and until now, the pace has been pretty consistent.

Three days for a GM post isn't an incredibly long wait time when you consider that he has to write several responses (at least 6 or 7) each time he posts, and the ball is definitely still rolling — it's only been a day since the last player post. On top of that, he and I are still collaborating on my next one, but I estimate that once our collaborative post is complete, the roleplay will start moving a little faster. Though, people are writing really fucking long posts all of a sudden, and I have noticed that it's taking a little longer each time to read through them.

Just need to have patience and urge people who haven't posted in a while.

Transience Disgustingly Vengeful

Hello!

As has been pointed out, I am extremely busy on weekends (Saturday especially) where I usually get anywhere between ten minutes to an hour of free time. I usually tend to spend it eating or sleeping, but it does mean my time online can be severely limited. I try to check on OOC where possible.

But yes, I am still here, very much alive, definitely active. No panics. Responses will be coming Monday and then most week days following that for the more active among you.

Thank you Raven for your insight into this. It's reassuring to know that such lengths are the norm for this RP.

As a new writer for this RP, still learning the flow of things and know all the storyline will speed up once our characters meet. For those of us who are still relying on the GM for posts, the wait is sometimes a little antsy (whollyshitimbouncingoffthewallsinexcitementfromwhattransiencehasplannedandalliwannadoiswrite!!!).

What are your thoughts on the cap post response limit, so there's are least a flow of new material regularly?

I'd rather not set a hard limit on how many responses we can fit into a GM post. After all, it's a plan, but I don't see it as a logistical possibility.

I don't mind, however, making multiple GM posts each round and giving priority to the more active group of players.

Hopefully, we'll be getting a co-GM soon who can take care of half the work and expedite the process.

Since no one else has addressed this - I feel that your response was rather rude. I was only trying to help and I don't think it should matter whether I just joined or not, at least I was actually responding to you. I don't feel like I deserved that sort of reply for being friendly.

Changed the ending of my post, if anyone is interested... felt like it needed a tad more flavor or pro-activeness on my part.

I'll probably be/remain AWOL until at least Monday, take home exams are not as fun as they seem. I have most of a post done (with the help of @Transience ), who plays a remarkably convincing tree).

Hope all is going well for the rest of you!

Just got home after a weekend spent with my cousin, and WOW I'm tired.

I'll try to figure out a post today, if I can beat my brain into shape.

Just a reminder as it may have gotten lost in the pages of OOC. I'm hoping for a collab between myself and Transience since Norco is on his own and will be talking with the wanderer. Just an update of where I am, knowing Transience is busy on the weekends and has multiple other collab/post requirements I'm simply waiting till its convenient. No rush.

@Blackbeard: Send Transience a PM instead if you want to set up a collab, and he'll get to it whenever he's available.

Or, alternatively, he can write a social commentary in a new age slang for Crow, a'la Clockwork Orange.

....seriously, hundred of thousands of years have more or less passed here. We're still in medieval times.

I'm thrilled its not Samurai Jack, but shit, how fucked is this world that their technological development keeps getting pushed back?

[Groan-inducing plug about religion and societal progress]

Jokes aside, it would be interesting if it were the Raitan gods maintaining the status quo, to keep the populace cowed and under their control.

I mean, we've only progressed past medieval technology in the last five hundred years. Before that, there was comparatively little in technological advancement. We used swords/spears/what-have-you for nearly all of recorded history and likely much more than that besides.
