The few weeks he spent at the Xavier School as a teen were more than enough to prepare him for his solo adventures as a costumed hero in NYC. Warren flew up into the clouds, seeing the sun. Diving back down into the concrete jungle he darted and dipped through skyscrapers and eventually flew past the Statue of Liberty. The muscles in his wings were at their peak, lifting his over two hundred pound body with ease. Warren heard an airplane overhead, it seemed to be smoking and upon flying closer Archangel met what would become his first superhuman enemy. A winged monster of a man known as the Griffin had attacked the plane and done damage to one of the turbines. Warren tried to get in close and take the monster down, however the tail of the beast swiped Archangel clear out of the entrance Griffin had torn into the side. The mutant hero recovered in seconds and managed to get into the plane. "You thought you could run from ME?!?" the monster screamed at a man in a business suit as the people all around were panicking. When the villain saw the hero had made an entrance, he threw him off guard. Griffin simply tossed a civilian out of the plane after ripping them out of their seatbelt. "YOU need to leave ME alone!" Griffin screamed as Archangel dived out of the hole in the plane after the blonde female in a Rolling Stones t-shirt. "This day isn't going how I planned at all..." Warren thought, "but at least I get to rescue a damsel in distress every so often." "I'VE GOT YOU!" he shouted over the woman who was already mid-scream herself. The hero sat her down on a nearby rooftop and flew back into the sky after the plane. On his way back up he tore the tin roof off a shed on another rooftop. By the time he'd made it to the plane Griffin was already miles ahead of him in the sky with the businessman he was shouting at now in the talons of the monster's feet. Warren used the piece of tin and patched the hole somewhat where Griffin ripped the door off and ran for the front of the plane. "You need any help flying this bird, Captain?" he yelled at the door. "I think I can land her in a nearby airfield. What do we call you, Birdman?" the pilot shouted back. "You can call me Archangel." Warren stated with a grin moving the tin and dipping out of the man made entrance/exit. ~KL~
