An interesting interpretation I had (and it is just my opinion mind you, far from being set in stone) is that a particular reason Leah could dislike Kat is that Kat follows the philosophy of living in the moment. Perhaps due to her parents splitting up Leah is subconsciously frightened and/or resentful of acting on impulse (since what is love, but a prolonged period of impulse), so thusly Kat's Iggy Pop-esque impulsiveness particularly offends Leah. What do you think?
