WORLD OF CHAOS
Welcome to Worluk, a fantastical planet found in the gap between dimensions. It's a magical world populated by drifters from across the multiverse, a chaotic planet with its own conscious and in the state of constant flux. You play as a faction from a different universe, leading an expedition to this strange new world. You meet new cultures, discover new races and experience things which goes beyond your wildest imagination. World of Chaos is an invasion-type game. If you aren't familiar with the term it means you start off in a relatively small location surrounded by unknowns and you have to gradually develop your empire (and perhaps eventually conquer the world). On the other hand I try to make this mostly narrative based and follow the Nation Game format. Which means little if any gameplay mechanics. Which is neat because you can enjoy the game for what it really is, an adventure while you play as your favorite faction. And yes, barring extreme examples you'll be allowed to use practically any faction. Armies of Mordor? Sure. Galactic Empire? Why not? Metal Gear? Absolutely! Saiyans from Dragon Ball? It can be still arranged. Let just it be said that I have a way to balance things out. OP factions may be still stronger than lower ranking ones but not so much and if you play smart you have the chance to catch up soon enough. So? What are you even waiting for!?
Game Info

Base on its source this game can have 4 kinds of factions. Canon - Straight adaptation from popular fiction. Short profile covers them. Alternate Universe - Some changes happened in the timeline which also bore significance to the faction. You need to detail on these changes but otherwise it's the same as the canon. Crossover - Your faction is the merge of one or more settings. Anything which isn't the same as the originals from either fiction must be detailed on. I also view these with scrutiny but of course decent crossovers are always welcome. Original - Basically a faction which you made up yourself. It may drew some inspiration from certain fictions but it's mostly whole new creation by you. While not the same but ore obscure fictions sometimes require the same standards because the GM otherwise wouldn't know how to deal with them. Long profiles are designed for these. General rule of thumb is that short profile content exist when the details of your faction and its capabilities are well-known. When there's something the GM (or preferably even if just the players) don't known, write it down. Of course it doesn't mean you literally have to spell out all the details, just what is important. Compare the short and long profiles to see what I mean.
Faction Name: (What's your faction called?) Origin: (which media/fiction it originates from?) Faction Type: (Are you a country, a secret organization? What kind of faction are you?) Leader: (who's the highest authority in your invader/explorer force?) Population: (How many people you have? Mostly this is for your civilian count but it varies per faction) Faction Rank: (work in progress, the GM will give you this) Color: (Pick a color which will be your mark on the map, example: Magenta) Assigned GM: (Which GM is governing you and controlling the surrounding NPCs?) Starting Area: (Where do you start? You can describe it but I prefer if you draw a dot on the map, yup you're only a dot in comparison for now) Faction Introduction (Introduce your faction to us in brief. Who are they? Why are they in Worluk? What is their objective? etc. Keep it brief but informative.) Faction Features (What are your faction's most notable features? Speak in general terms, preferably put them in points as a list of strengths/weaknesses) Military (Like it or not, armies will have some relevance here. If the faction is well-known just make it a unit list like 10,000 stormtroopers, 1000 Speeders, 400 AT-ST, 50 AT-AT. If it's obscure/fandom/original you gotta explain things more, often even giving a general description of the military NRP profile style)

TBA

Faction Name: Zanzibar Land Origin: Metal Gear Faction Type: Sovereign Military Nation Leader: Big Boss Population: 40,000 Faction Rank: B+ Color: Olive Green Assigned GM: willyvereb Starting Area: East of Malibderan Faction Introduction http://metalgear.wikia.com/wiki/Zanzibar_Land Zanzibar Land is a small but heavily fortified nation of soldiers founded after the conclusion of the Cold War. They follow the legendary soldier codenamed Big Boss who wishes for a world where soldiers are free from the gasp of any government and fight their own wars. At the beginning it appeared his aims to establish his independent nation which no power could remove was a relative success but by late 1999 it became apparent that the days of Zanzibar Land were numbered. That was when they discovered a portal leading to Worluk. Mobilizing all their remaining resources Zanzibar Land went to discover and settle down in this strange new world. Faction Features - Army without Borders: Big Boss collected soldiers from across the world and he plans to do the same in Worluk. He can - Metal Gear!: Like its predecessor Zanzibar Land is known for its incredible speed ant R&D and production of whole new kind of vehicles, preferably walkers under the name of Metal Gear. - Stealth Mission: Big Boss and his men are infamous for their ability to infiltrate highly guarded areas. - Military Nation: Zanzibar Land only has very limited civilian population which makes it rely on trade and outside help to sustain itself. - Limited Recognition: Zanzibar Land's status as a nation is questionable and its militaristic tendencies can give them diplomatic issues. - What You Believe In: The philosophy of Outer Heaven gives freedom for its people to do what their heart says. Within certain limits scientists and soldiers do exactly what they want and at times even Big Boss lacks any control over this. (usually try to balance advantages with equal number of disadvantages) Military http://metalgear.wikia.com/wiki/Zanzibar_Land#Military_resources_.281999.29 - Elite Mercs (Big Boss, Gray Fox, Ocelot, Liquid Snake, Solid Snake, Vulcan Raven, Sniper Wolf, Psycho Mantis) - 24,000 Zanzibar Land Security (lightly armed, work in many shifts) - 16,000 Zanzibar Land Troops (better armed and generally form their military) - 1600 trucks - 169 Metal Gear G - 21 Metal Gear D - 11 Goliath Tanks - 40 AFVs - 15 Mi-24 Hind D ZL attack helicopters - 25 Su-27/Mig-29 fighters - RF-4C Phantom recon planes - 25 Gigant transport copters - 5 C-130 Hercules transport planes

TBA

TBA

Worldbuilding Info

1 pixel = 100km
Each race in Worluk developed their own time measurement and calendar systems and locally these values can vary wildly. Still, there's a more commonly accepted system which most of the native factions at least know even if not necessarily use. Their shortest measurement of time is the pulse which magi determined as the length matching the frequency of Essence waves in Worluk. Incidentally (or not?) this matches the human heart rate. Due to cultural mixing any references to "seconds" in Worluk are often actually meant in pulses 100 pulses equal a minute. The naming is influenced by human customs and so it's actually ~ 1.5 times longer than a minute on Earth. So is their equivalent of "hour" which is equal to 60 of their minutes (90 of our minutes). Similarly 24 hours equal a day which is by Earth measurements would be 36 hours instead. A year on Worluk is 300 days which is divided into 10 months, 30 days each. The length of the months perfectly matches the cycle of Worluk's moon (often referred as the Night Queen albeit simple Moon is also common). Each culture has their own name for the months but the ever-practical ancient Guarni called them as the following:
[1] Prima [2] Dua [3] Terce [4] Quarte [5] Penta [6] Sesta [7] Settima [8] Octava [9] Nova [10] Decime
Similarly thanks to the Guarni's observations there's a certain stellar event of great importance which is repeated in exactly every 1000 years. This is the Covenant of Ice which heralds great chaos, war and also the chance for great miracles. It's the time of destruction and rebirth and some consider it as a way to test the mettle of the current generation and especially the leading powers. The interval between Covenants is measured in Cycles. Currently Worluk is approaching the end of the 40th Cycle.
