Meanwhile, Theta looked Jeanette up and down before responding “Oh? How do you know I’m the sweetest? You want to taste to find out for certain? I may be a bit sour, depending on what you’re looking for…” Jeanette gave a sultry smile and shifted her weight from one hip to another as she stood. “Oh, I think I found exactly what I’m looking for – a good time! You must be Theta, and I… am… Jeanette! And I can tell that you and I are going to get along just like fire hoses. When we both get turned on, there’s bound to be flames.” She punctuated the saucy pun with a giggle and then looked back to Jonathan, who offered her a ‘drink or something’. Jeanette tapped her lips with a finger and cocked her head to the side. “Well, I would, if only this place were a little more exciting – ” Just as she was about to finish her sentence, in stormed the infamous Anya Caper. She made quite the scene, as usual, and then addressed Jeanette. “Your fashion sense is as impeccable as always, Jeanette!” Jeanette crossed her arms and eyed her suspiciously, not trusting this not to be sarcasm. “No, really! Where’d you get your skirt, and do you think they have one in my size?” Anya seemed sincere enough. “You’re size? I don’t think so, but it is rather ‘school girl’, so maybe you could find something similar.” Jeanette replied with a crooked smile. She really didn’t know what to think of the child vampire, as she was one of the only creatures in the room that Jeanette wouldn’t flirt with… that would just be too weird, supernaturally well above age or not. “Take me shopping with you next time, okay? I need a new top after today… kinda” Anya continued. For once, Jeanette got a bit serious. “About that, I know you’re a tough kid, but, you should be more careful.” Jeanette lowered her voice. “With potential hunters around, you might not want to be so flashy about what you are.” And the serious warning ended there. Yuck, she was starting to sound like her boring sister. From now on, shepherd Therese could manage her flock while Jeanette danced in the forests with the wolves, that sounded much more fitting. Arya made a racist comment that got under Jonny’s skin a bit, but seemed not to bother Theta much. It wasn’t strange to hear talk like that these days, with the family rivalries and all. That, and some of the more fanatical or ‘religious’ vampires believed that the modern increase in dhampir numbers was a sign of the end of times, when the most ancient vampires would rise from their slumber to devour their children. You know, vampire doomsday and all that jazz. Jeanette didn’t really believe in any of that hocus pocus. Therese, on the other hand… “On second thought, Jonny, I think I will take that drink! Surprise me with something that has a little extra kick, if you catch my drift.” Jeanette requested with a quick wink. With the crowd that was gathering, maybe this wouldn’t turn out to be a boring night after all. ~~~ …Meanwhile, at 'The Asylum'… ~~~ Doug was cashing out a patron at the register behind the bar when Alec walked in. He turned around to see her taking a seat: a brunette in sun glasses, she looked pretty. Doug himself was a rough looking guy, the kind you don't fuck with. He was tall, chunky, bald, and covered in tribal tattoos. “So my dad’s a Caper, you know? Izzat worth something ‘round here?” Alec asked, her words slurring with her buzz. Doug chuckled in his throat. “Yeah, it’s worth somethin’, but that ain’t a discount. Sorry, sweetie, but the lady who signs my checks is a real stickler about the business. If yer truly a Caper, that most likely means ya got the dough to buy anything on the menu, so what can I get for ya?” he replied.
