You know, I was thinking about that... I can already hear the groans from other people!

In all seriousness, I am looking for a year that you could call the 'golden age' of the Old West and, since I do not believe there really is one, am more drawn toward pre/during the Civil War [b]or[/b] the earlier years - Oregon trail, beginnings of the railroads, more intense frontier life and that sort of thing.
