1. A generic term for any magic user is a mage.

2. A Wizard (male or female) is a mage who had no magical power at birth but gained it through study.

3. A Sorcerer (a female is a Sorceress) is a mage who was born with magical power and studies mainly to control it.

4. A Warlock (a female is a witch) is a mage who gained his/her magic power from making a deal with a powerful entity. Like the devil. Or a Fairy Queen. Or a talking magic tree of immense power.[/hider]
