[@BlazeGamma] I think I out-thunk the nanomachine concept then, mind explaining it a bit more?
Basically nanomachines in the setting are strictly injected. We're looking at it like health regulation/management, able to dole out adrenaline or speed healing processes and the likes, as well as allow for instant communications between synced up parties. It can emulate magics, for example, making a fireball by converting biofuels to methane and allowing it to be emitted instantaneously, or causing electric shocks by causing a temporary charge within a part of the body. Buffs and debuffs could be performed by hacking the nanomachines of others, or else by directing nanomachines of partners into certain routines. In and of themselves, the nanomachines only operate within the body. EDIT: It's mostly an excuse for rest healing in the quasirealistic game setting, as well as allowing magic.
