Kasai had always been a runner. She was orphaned at a young age, her parents giving her up. She got the "running" DNA from them and ran away from her foster home when she was 16. Her foster parents gave no mind and she decided to live with an older friend of hers who owned her own tattoo shop near a shrine. She lived there for two years and one day, as she was in a tree by a well, she saw a young girl walking up to the well. Some giant monster thing grabbed her and started dragging her down. Kasai, whom was none the wiser, jumped from the tree, expecting to land next to the well. She landed straight into the well after the girl and expected to land on her. Instead, she landed in a bush near her; only to discover that she was in ancient Japan!
