I've been working on a summary of Moravia's views and relations with most nearby nations. Some are still missing, but the ones that I expect to interact with a lot and/or have an influence on Moravia are listed.
Moravia's Foreign Relations (WIP) PRK: Communist threat to the stability of the region: -----5 We want to reclaim our rightful land (Both parts of the Holy and Old Moravian Empires were lost): -----5 Historical Hatred: ----4 Sizable military threat: ---3 Fuso-Izuno Proxy War: ---3 Anti-religion: --2 Main economic rival: --2 Female ruler: -1 War would be very costly: +++3 Net Opinion: Hated Enemy (-22) What this means: After more than a thousand years of brooding distrust and mutual hatred, the very name Kataylabinsk has a horrible connotation throughout all of Moravia. The inhabitants of the PRK are essentially considered to be subhuman animals, and the Commonwealth hates both that region and its people to the point of no reconcilliation. Verendes: Heathen Religion: -1 Female ruler: -1 Conservative leanings: +1 Historical Friend(Supported fascist uprising): ++2 No interest in conquering Verenden land: ++2 Military Aid: (Naval Modernization): +++3 Enemy of the PRK: ++++4 Strategic Ally(Strong navy and important geographic location): ++++4 Important source of petroleum and other imports +++++5 Net Opinion: Staunch Ally (+19) What this means: Verendes is the oldest of Moravia's allies, and at this point the relationship is looking like it will last a long time. Particularly when faced with the looming threats of Avalia, the PRK, and to a lesser extent Zenovia, Verendes is a much welcomed ally amongst a virtual sea of enemies. Ceresia: Intense opposition from gnomish population: ----4 Matriarchy: -2 Poor relations with Verendes: -2 Female ruler: -1 Heathen Religion: -1 Moravian Racism towards nonhumanoids: -1 Xenophobia towards underwater nation: -1 Has a political faction with fascist leanings: +1 Good Trade Opportunities: +1 Conservative leanings: ++2 Chose the right side in hte izuno-Fuso conflict: ++2 Potentially powerful ally: +++3 Dislikes PRK and Avalia: +++4 Net Opinion: On the fence (+1) What this means: It is hard to predict how any interaction would go, seeing as there are plenty of resons to both like or loathe Ceresia. As a result, Moravia is rather polarized when it comes to dealings with Ceresia and it would take something major to cause both sides to come close to anything of a consensus regarding how diplomacy should be handled with this nation. Fortunately, Moravia hasn't been forced to make much of a decision yet due to their lack of historical interation with Ceresia and the large distance between the nations. Worth noting is that the gnomish population of Moravia vehemently wants to retake Mostia (they are again split by whether or not they would want Mostia as an independent state or part of the Commonwealth) but the Moravian government itself does not necessarily share this position with the gnomish minority. Izuno: Supporting them means destroying any potential for relations with Fuso: ----4 Not very modern: --2 Heathen Religion: -1 Closer to us than Fuso, and more ideologically compatible: +1 Conservative leanings: ++2 Business ties with Izunese colonies: ++2 Historical Friend(Fought a war together recently): ++2 Strategic Position: ++2 Dislikes the PRK: ++2 Ally: +++3 Important source of petroleum and other imports: +++++5 Net opinion: Ally (+12) What this means: For numerous reasons, the Commonwealth feels that it is compatible with Izuno and has chosen to take their side in the conflict against Fuso. This has resulted in nothing but mutual benefit, and as time has gone on relations have only grown friendlier to the point of becoming solid allies. For business interests as well as supporting a nation that they genuinely consider a friend, Moravia stands as Izuno's most stalwart ally. Fuso: We are officially at war: -----5 Allied to the PRK and Avalia: ----4 You are at war with our ally Izuno: ----4 We recognize Izuno's claims over yours: ---3 Female soldiers: --2 Wretched culture of debauchery and poor morals: --2 Heathen religion: -1 Fuso has plenty of resources that we would want: ++2 The people don't feel that fighting this faroff enemy is worth lives or resources: ++++4 Avalia: Outright ally to the PRK: -----4 On the wrong side of the Fuso-Izuno conflict: ---3 Icy relations with our ally Verendes: ---3 They dislike us and refuse to trade: ---3 Anti-religion: --2 Far too liberal on many issues: -1 Female soldiers: -1 Female ruler: -1 No interest in conquering Avalian land: ++2 Strategic position: ++2 War would be too costly: +++3 They have valuable technology and goods to offer: +++3 Net opinion: Regretful enemy (-8) What this means: The Commonwealth has plenty of reasons to dislike Avalia, but these would have been possible to overlook were they not essentially forced into their current position of returning Avalia's hostility with like kind. While cooperation is unlikely on Avalia's end, Moravia might at least be willing to try diplomacy. Yllendthyr: The sole biggest contender to Moravia's military dominance, in our eyes: ---3 Fellow Military Expansionist, with global holdings everywhere: --2 They seem to be too close to Avalia: --2 Traditionally isolated from us: --2 Heathen religion: -1 Conservative leanings: ++2 Moravia has no desire to conquer Yllendthyr's lands: ++2 Much better to be a friend than an enemy: ++2 Admiration and respect for what is seen as a fellow ancient empire: ++2 Very good trade opportunities: ++++4 Net opinion: Friendly (+2) What this means: In general, Moravia is interested in diplomacy with Yllendthyr mainly to decrease the likelihood of them and their allies from joining with the PRK-Avalia block in the case of any military conflicts. Beyond that, they also see great potential in attempting to actually pull Yllendthyr onto the fray as an ally, and would be willing to supplicate to a great extent if it meant having such a powerful ally to help permanently dismantle the PRK. In the worst possible case, they would like to at least maintain trade relations with Yllendthyr and not draw the ire of a global naval power that could cause a great deal of trouble through blockades.
