I'm not bothered where you send it. 

And we're having temporary amnesia and we all end up there on random with no apparent reason or explanation. At first we'll all end up in the middle of a field or something with no humans in sight and no idea where we are, then we'll be found by someone local. As for what our characters know, I'd say they know who they are but have short-term memory loss or a patchy memory of events (as in remembering/ not remembering things at random).
