As the shots rang out, giving the leader of the slavers a momentary distraction, Par tapped his steed's stomach with his shoes, causing him to roar, then swipe one of his large paws at the slaver leader and his hound, before moving forth to bite off the head of the gunman. That left the dog, which leapt at the bear, snarling and biting at the Yao Guai's right paw. But with a burst of strength, the bear shook off the hound, before Par riddled the animal with a burst of submachine fire. That cleared the battlefield. Turning around, the young man spoke: "You two," the second referring to the just-emerged Max - would miracles never cease? "Step back; I will destroy the radio tower." Before anyone can wonder how the physically weak 19-year old would do that, he had his tame bear walk backward some distance, before spurring him to rush the structure of the tower, aiming to tip it over. The building shook, and cracks began to appear in the wood, and Par caused George to begin pushing at the scaffolding. Slowly but surely, the radio tower tipped over with a huge crash; disabling any explosive collars in range, and scattering pieces of wooden and metal shrapnel that would not harm anyone, especially Max due to his luck, which seemed to protect them all. "Now let's go!" shouted Par as he set George off on a run, back to where John and Akira were getting the slaves to safety... ------ At John's end, he would find Akira going off alone, in order to chase after sounds of more slavers...
