“ I will make a pact with you: I will do it if you will do it, always and forever. Take down the walls.”

It was useless. Sitting here cross-legged like some meditating freak was not working. He was either too far away, or he’d found a way to block her out, and Trixy wasn’t sure which would be worse. She stood up, dusted off her legs, and made her way to the table. The two now-cold cups of coffee still sat there. Trixy traced the rim of Tholo’s with a single index finger. Her grandsire was wrong about one thing, Bartholomew wasn’t lucky to have her, he was cursed, perhaps even more so than the lycan blood that flowed within him. Rage bubbled up under her skin and she crushed the cup against the table. Coffee and broken glass coated her hand, so she shook it off with a hiss. A car door shutting outside caught her attention and she looked to the door. It couldn’t be… But the door opened, and in walked her wolf. That’s right, her wolf, and this time she wouldn’t run. ”Um got your message,” Tholo said and pointed to his head. So it wasn’t pointless then, maybe she took after grandmother Frida more than she had thought. For a brief moment, Béatrix just stood there and stared at him. Her expression was an impossible mix of misplaced anger, regret, and lust. After a few seconds of staring, the latter of the three won out. He had closed the door behind him and Trixy flitted with the same speed she had used earlier to flee, but instead of running, she stopped dead in front of him. It smelled like he had spent some time in the woods as his other self. Whether or not the wolf was close to the surface of his human skin, Tholo held back from touching her again, so Trixy had to close the gap. She balled her hands up in his shirt and slammed his torso against the front door before standing on her toes to kiss him. It was a bit of a violent claim, but there was an apology on her lips.
