As for me, I have a project or two in the works.

Short Batman is up, time to work on ASM and OU.

How much of a character's back story am I allowed to change? I know there are some things that, if changed, just wouldn't make sense at all. But namely, I'm referring to using Zauriel and changing his back story.

The Flash as a sarcastic teenager coming into what responsibility truly means? Boom. The Question as a hard-nosed police detective serving a hierarchy he doesn't care for? Q'd up. Slade Wilson as not a mercenary but a successful military man looking to become President? Stroke it.

It's pretty much open enrollment on characterization and backstory changes as long as it's done well.

Jason Peter Todd – Red X – The Son Of Anarchy

- | Origin & Backstory | -
Jason Peter Todd is the only son of the, at the time young criminal Willis and his girlfriend Erin Masters. Erin was a heroine addict, and his father was a up and coming thug. His father got involved in a biker gang, known as the Breakers. The Breakers were the smallest biker gang in Gotham, and the only reason Willis was allowed to join the gang was because the leader of the gang, Butch Masters was Erin's cousin.

The Breakers did over the next 8 years grow to become the second strongest biker gang in the entire state, the only gang bigger than them was the Red Reavers in Bludhaven. A single battle outside of the Red Reaver's HQ rendered both gangs weakened. Butch was shot during the conflict, making Willis his successor. Willis Todd lead the Breakers for another year and a half, before the gang reached a truce with the Reavers. Willis beating their leader, a guy named John in a fist fight and with that, he united both of the gangs into one, the Red Hood Gang, named after the red helmet Willis wore, and after the uniting of the two gangs, all fellow members of the gang wore them too.

Jason grew up riding a motorcycle, his first 10 years being spent sitting behind his father or other members of the gang. But on his eleventh birthday Jason was given his own motorcycle. Jason constantly got into trouble, getting into fights, well, more like picking fights. He fought with people older than him all the time, usually even picking fights with members of his own gang.

– Year One –

Jason shared his fathers unbreakable will, and absolute disdain for authority, be it corporations, cops or government. The only thing Jason, his father and the gang had respect for was brotherhood. The gang was the ultimate force in Bludhaven. Rivaled only by the BlockBuster gang, whom lacked the honor the bikers held. Jason was taught by his fellow bikers the way of the streets. He become a better fighter, but, due to his young age and small and fragile frame, Jason had to learn how to be quick and agile, not just strong to beat his opponents. Jason got his nickname “The Son Of Anarchy” After he beat a security guard to a pulp with a wrench in a fit of rage, after the guard had disrespected the gang.

– Year Two –

Jason Todd was the 13 year old, youngest member of the Red Hood Gang. His life was, very much in his own opinion, pretty good. He lived by a strict code of honor, of brotherhood, and to never kick someone that's down. Figuretively, not literarly. You kick someone on the ground till they're out cold.

However, the glory days of the Red Hood Gang would come to an end, when the duo of Batman and Tarantuela broke the gang up, finding enough evidence to tie Jason's father down, and send him to prison. His Liutenants being bought up by other gangs, especially the False Face Syndicate. Jason was put in foster care for six months, as he watched how the gang he had been raised by crumbled to dust.

– Year Three –
Spending a year in foster care, Jason had enough. He ran away. He found a relative of his. Butch's brother, Michael. Michael, unlike his brother was a completely different man. He was a man of science, an engineer at big company in Gotham. Jason sought out his relative, and explained his situation, how his father was in jail, and his mother, Michael's cousin, was in a rehabilitation center for her drug addiction. Michael decided to take Jason in, to settle things with the orphanage, so that the boy could get a real life, not the messed up life Michael's brother had. Michael's good will may be wasted on the young Todd who's currently heading down the dark path of vengence.

He's 167 CM tall and weights 54 KG.
He enjoys classical rock as well as alternative rock.
His favorite food is tacos.
His favorite drink is Coca Cola.
He carries a fake ID that claims him to be 22 years old and named Campbell Thomson.
He's got a scar by his right eye.

- | Abilities |-
Physical Condition: Jason's spent a lot of time training his body, several hours a day are spent exercising to despite his age and smaller frame be able to compete with adults.

Free-Running: Combinding his acrobatics and his physical conditioning Jason is an adept free runner and climber, far from a master at either free-running or Parkour the young man still holds remarkable speed and dexterity in the urban jungle.

Fighting technique: Jason's got training in boxing and Systema from the bikers, however, most of his fighting capabilities comes from his street fighting style, making him highly unpredictable.His weapon of choice is the crowbar. Wrenches and rebar are also common melee weaponry.

Intelligence: Jason's got an IQ of 140, making him a genius well beyond his years. However, with only middle-school tutoring, Jason's textbook genius is very limited. He's very skilled in combining his natural sense for logic and logistic thinking with his street smart. He's also rather skilled in reading body language due to both watching and participating in many criminal deals as well as fights.

Weaponry:
Jason's a pretty good shot with a shotgun. He's also got basic understanding for explosives which he's picked up both during his time with his father and from the internet. His explosive skills are far from reliable.

- | How is this character different? | -
He's not a Robin, for starters.
He's an antihero right off the bat, but lacking the know-how he got from Bruce making him not qualified to take on the guise of the Red Hood. He's also got a bit of influence from Tim in his character, as Tim's my favorite member of the Batfamily.

- | What is your goal with this character? | -
To explore a different, darker path of Jason Todd. What he would've been like without Batman's guidance. What he would have become should he never had attempted to steal the tires from the batmobile. Personally for me as a writer, I wrote Jason this way to practice my own ability to write a character who's “walking the line”, doing bad things for 'good' reason.

It's 2 a.m. The boy should've gone to sleep hours ago. But he couldn't. He couldn't completely relax, nor could he tear his eyes away from the computer screen he was watching. He was on the internet, having several windows up at the same time. Several of them were video clips of bombings and firefights between the gangs. One of them was a seven second loop of the black shadow that was speculated to be Batman. He then switched his gaze to the article regarding the False Face Syndicate, how they'd taken over the bludhaven crimescene over the last year. As Jason continued to watch the screen, he clenched his fist. Feeling the anger bubbling within him. His knuckles whitened as he blew his messy black hair out of his face, as his bangs landed in front of his eyes.

He wanted to punch something... Someone..

Michael, his relative and guardian was working and wasn't home. Leaving Jason able to come and go as he wanted to. Which Jason intended to use to it's fullest.

| Origin & Backstory |

A guardian angel since the dawn of time, Zauriel was an angel of the Eagle Host of angels. Zauriel served The Presence by acting as a guardian angel and protecting the souls of many humans from Cleopatra to Joan of Arc. One of the most revered soldiers in the angelic army of Paradise, Zauriel served gratefully and fervently. Trouble outside of the ordinary was almost unheard of until he started hearing whispers. Whispers of a rebellion coming from higher up, the highest order.

|Year One|

Zauriel begins to hear rumors of the Bull Host Angel Asmodel building an army to challenge The Presence and all the other heavenly warriors. At the same time, his love for the woman he is tasked with protecting grows even more. Hoping to evade the wrath of Asmodel, which quickly turned on him when Asmodel learned that Zauriel might present a threat to his aims, and pursue his love, Zauriel requests to be sent to earth to find his love in front of the council of King Angels. Asmodel, being one of the King Angels, rejects the notion, convincing the other King Angels that Zauriel’s motives are impure and it must be for some ulterior motive, going so far as to sell out a small contingency of his own army to convince the King Angels that Zauriel is evil.

Casted out from Heaven, Zauriel falls to earth, catching the attention of a few heroes. Touching down on Earth, Zauriel stumbles across occult activity attempting to summon a demon to the realm of Earth. Acting quickly, Zauriel is joined by a powerful sorceress, Zatanna Zatara, and aids her in pushing the demon the cult are attempting to summon, the nefarious Neron, back out of Earth. Now mortal and severely weakened, Zauriel begins his search for his true love.

|Year Two|

Asmodel assembles a covert team of his own Bull angels in mortal bodies to pursue Zauriel, deciding that this loose end cannot be left unattended. He sends them to Earth to kill Zauriel, who is attempting to find a way back to heaven to warn the rest of the Angels, having had a change of heart. The Bull angels find him in the presence of the Martian Manhunter and Zatanna, who quickly come to his aid to push them back.

Asmodel, infuriated, sends a small army of lesser angels to bring back Zauriel. With the Martian Manhunter, Zatanna and Doctor Light to help him, Zauriel wages a battle with the angels in an abandoned highway town. The town is leveled in the ensuing battle, but during the midst of it, an angel attempts to flee back to heaven. Zauriel uses this opportunity to make it back through the dimensional rift as well. Zauriel alerts the other King Angels of Asmodel’s plans, shining light on the true evil in Heaven’s midst.

Asmodel is cast out of heaven and into Hell, his followers taking his fate as well.

|Year Three|

Having revealed the true intentions of Asmodel, Zauriel is bestowed with all of his abilities again. Also seeing the good of having a figure from Heaven on Earth in the midst of this rise of superheroes, the King Angels name Zauriel an ambassador to Earth, bestowing him with Heavenly armor and his own headquarters, the Aerie, situated above the Pacific Ocean.

Unable to gain the love of the object of his affection, Zauriel turns his attention to the betterment of the state of the Earth he is now served with looking out for.

| Powers & Abilities |

Angel Physiology: Being an Angel of Heaven, Zauriel is immortal, being immune to aging and disease. He is self-sustaining, not needing to breathe. This physiology gives him superhuman agility and stamina. His strength is also enhanced. His body still must adjust to earth over the next few years, so he still has growing to do.

Accelerated Healing: Zauriel recovers from injuries at a heightened rate. Though, as it stands, his healing still requires a few minutes to activate and a 3rd degree burn will take an hour or so to heal.

Flight: Being an Angel, Zauriel possesses wings that allow him to fly at high speeds and with his millennia of experience, he has an impeccable degree of control and maneuverability with his wings.

Enhanced Intellect: Zauriel can multi-task and processes information and stimuli at an exponential rate.

Sonic Scream, the most potent of his powers, Zauriel can unleash a sonic scream with tremendous amounts of destructive power.

Swordsmanship: He’s been wielding the Flaming Sword of Michael for more than 2000 years, so he’s got a pretty good handle on the craft along with many other ancient weapons.

Michael’s Sword: The Flaming Sword of Michael has the ability to cut through anything, based on Zauriel’s will. However, his Earth body is still adjusting so, he has trouble at times. It is also capable of shooting varying degrees of fire blasts.

| How is this character different? |
I haven’t seen Zauriel in action too much, but I’d like to play him as a more detached angel who is adjusting to the emotions he’s learning from being around humans. He’s been an observer for so long, he has little basis of actually interacting with humans.

The seagulls cascaded on the ocean breezes rampant over the Pacific Ocean along with Zauriel, as the angel soared through the air, his powerful wings carrying him miles in a single motion. Dipping down to just above the sea, Zauriel increased his speed, creating a displacement of water from the sheer force of his speed while flying. The beauty of natural things in this world still amazed him. How things changed, how things remained constant, it was all beautiful, working in an unspoken harmony.

As he neared the coast of California, Zauriel began to rise, shooting up at a frightening speed before leveling off and building up power, the feathers of his wings almost seeming to shudder in anticipation, his back muscles flexing and tensing before he released a surge of energy and took off with a ‘Boom!’ over California, sailing to his destination: the middle of the Nevada desert.

Zauriel swooped down, striking the earth in the middle of the fray of angels, sending a plume of dust rippling from his point of impact. He spun around, calling the Sword of Michael to existence and slashed at his first foe. It sliced to with the ease of a heated knife to butter and the angel, losing its mortal shell, departed back to heaven.

The war of the Heavens was about to begin.
