If you guys noticed in my first ooc post, I wrote that one day they come back to the place and aren't at the house- that is when the 'side effects' start happening to everyone. It might be something to explore if we do take Lyra's idea and say like for example

Side Effect: 
Stage 1: Body feeling warmer than usual
Stage 2: Sweating without much physical activity
Stage 3: Smoke rising from your body
Stage 4: Setting things on fire that you touch [/i]
