[@ravenDivinity] Sort of. Think like a combination of those and the american folk characters (paul bunyon, davy crocket), and then throw in some magic and fantasy things. As well he's not as... charming as those characters. Half his work is fighting off those who oppose nature's rule. Yes the other half is helping those who live in harmony with nature, but it's hard to get away from his main objective.

the tales probably got warped over time to make him more heroic.
