While Fusion / Crosswars made a point of differentiating it I've not actually seen the difference and the function seems to be the same but theories have risen on the With The Will (might be a familiar) Forum though.

Well, this isn't official but I think that one condition for the ExE Evolution is being defeated or maybe even death of a Digimon and it's probably related to the new Omnimon / Omegamon thing call'd Black knight executor
