Cyra Zylvan - Beacon Academy Ballroom - Monday Evening Cyra surveyed the ballroom, trying and failing to swallow the lump in her throat. It had taken well over an hour for her to work up the courage to enter, and now it seemed like every student had staked a claim, turning the floor into a patchwork of sleeping bags. Her own was still bundled up on top of her backpack, and looking around, she was now certain; she was not sleeping here. She tip-toed along the wall, trying not to eavesdrop on the hushed conversations taking place. Nearby bathrooms had made changing into sleepwear much easier on the students, although it had rapidly become obvious that there were wildly different opinions on what constituted "sleepwear". Most people seemed to just use a pair of shorts and a t-shirt. Some people had full pajamas, some of the boys apparently preferred only shorts or pants (she tried not to look), and some of the girls just used a shirt (trying really hard not to look). Only a day had passed, and already people were separating into groups, giving some inkling on what the future teams might look like. As was to be expected, humans and Faunus tended to keep to their own, although there was one pretty human girl with extremely long black hair who was doing an awful job of keeping her fascination, not to mention her hands, to herself. She did seem to have enough tact to ask first, and more often than not she was shot down, but on the one or two occasions that she got what she wanted, her utter delight was completely unabashed. Definitely someone to be avoided, Cyra thought to herself. It took a few minutes, and several whispered apologies when she bumped someone with her bag or suitcase, for her to reach the other set of doors. The only unlocked door in the hallway she had entered through was a supply closet, certainly not enough space to sleep in, so she was hoping that this second one might have an open classroom or something that she could set up in. As she slipped through the door, she failed to notice a pair of eyes following her exit.
